How to have self-nature? If you fall into the dependent origin of consciousness, you will mistake all dharmas for their independence. Therefore, there is birth and death, which is an independent individual, and it is the individual that is arising and dying. In this way, the individual is regarded as an independent existence. This so-called individual is established independent of dependent origination. Since it does not rely on dependent origination, it cannot be seen that it must be completed by functions. In this way, all dharmas can be regarded as having their own nature, and the birth, existence, differentiation, and destruction of all dharmas become phenomena with their own nature, that is, they have the appearance of their own nature.
In other words, this is the existence of ‘reality’.
The "self-nature" in Buddhism can actually be understood as the reality in Li Qi's mouth. Although there are some differences between the two, they can basically be regarded as the same existence that maintains itself.
The Buddha said here that "all dharma arising from conditions have no inherent nature." That is to say, the phenomenon itself has no reality.
For example, for a giant, when they see a mountain in the world, they can cross it in one step, just like walking. There is no mountain to climb at all. It is the same as when a person encounters a stone while walking and passes it with one step. However, for ants From a human perspective, this stone is like a huge mountain.
Everything is made by chance, in accordance with nature, and each adapts to its own obstacles. We cannot regard what humans see as the appearance seen by ants, nor can we regard what gods and humans see as the appearance seen by humans. This is why we say that "appearances have no inherent nature."
The Tathagata has thirty-two signs, but if you don't see through this, you won't be able to see the real Tathagata.
It sounds simple, but it is not simple in practice because we actually don’t know the world as other people see it.
Li Qi didn't know what the world looked like in the eyes of the Demon Prince, so how could he know whether he saw mountains or flat roads?
Therefore, those who can do this can be called 'infinite wisdom'.
The meaning of the Buddha's words is to know that there is such a difference, to clearly distinguish this difference, and to understand the relationship between 'reality' and 'phenomenon'. As the saying goes, "depending on the self-nature of others is the nature of non-self-nature. Because it is dependent on dependent origination, it is not self-generated.”
Phenomenon is a derivative, so it has no reality and is part of ‘emptiness’.
Moreover, at this time, if the World Honored Tathagata said these words to Li Qi, it would be different.
Li Qi instantly realized that the Buddha was talking about the 'Desire Realm'.
So, is the realm of desire ‘self-nature’ or ‘phenomenon’?
According to the quality and ability of the Desire Realm, there is no doubt that the Desire Realm should have reality.
But don't forget!
The Desire Realm is ‘the sum total of the desires and reality of all sentient beings’.
In other words, the desire realm is essentially the derivative of all living beings, and according to what the Buddha said, ‘all conditioned phenomena have no inherent nature’.
Phenomena have no intrinsic nature.
The desire realm is a standard phenomenon.
So, the Buddha is telling Li Qi that the essence of the desire world has no reality!
This reminded Li Qi of a strange phenomenon, which may be used as evidence for this view, that is, the 'secondary demon'.
As an existence similar to natural phenomena caused by heavenly demons, secondary heavenly demons can reach the highest level of fourth level. Because secondary heavenly demons cannot have reality above level three, even things born from the thoughts of heavenly demons cannot achieve level three.
In other words, the secondary demons as ‘phenomena’ are also ‘born in dependence on dependent origination, not self-generated’.
So, what about the realm of desire, which is a creation of the devil?

The underlying meaning of this statement is that every living being with high intelligence is actually a ‘third grade or above’ in the future.
