1909 Surrounded

Fan Shun laughed gently. He was cold and ruthless as he said, "I'm no savior. Why should I care about other people?"

The professor winced slightly. He knew about Fan Shun's ruthlessness. He did not have the slightest empathy.

Seeing it was impossible to stop Fan Shun, the professor could only agree. He pushed a piece of precision equipment over and removed its connectors as he said, "Let me check the existing chip you have in the back of your head first."

Fan Shun acknowledged him mildly and closed his eyes.

Each connector was attached to his head. Before long, progress bars automatically popped up on the equipment monitor. When the progress bars reached 100%, a simulation of a brain popped up.

The professor typed swiftly on the keyboard entering commands. After half a minute, a look of joy suddenly appeared on his face.

"All the data from your brain was successfully recorded on the chip. Also, it looks very stable. If the surgery turns out well, then we will succeed in copying one subject's memory to another subject."

If they could find a way to let a dying man continue living using someone else's healthy body, it would be an epic moment for Science.

It would be far more groundbreaking than cloning technology!

The professor was very hopeful. After checking everything, and confirming everything was fine, he said, "I'm going to remove the chip first."

Although Fan Shun's eyes were closed, his brows relaxed a little hearing the professor's words. He simply said, "Get on with it then."

"Okay," answered the professor hurriedly. He told his assistant to bring some anesthetic over.

"I'm good. Just do it directly," interrupted Fan Shun.

He was able to bring Min Yu after carefully planning this for a long time. Considering Miss Huo's temperament and abilities, she would probably get here very soon.

He had to finish the surgery before she got here.

The professor's eyes constricted and said, "It's going to hurt."

Since the chip was placed at the back of the subject's head, his skin had to be cut in order to remove it.

"Just take it out directly." Fan Shun pursed his lips. In comparison to the pain he had suffered all these years, this was really nothing.

Seeing this, the professor could only sigh softly and said, "Okay then."

In reality, Fan Shun could be very forceful with people, but he was even harsher with himself.

Before long, the professor picked up the surgical knife.

During the entire process of removing the chip, Fan Shun did not make the slightest sound. His willpower was very strong and it seemed as though he was not the one getting his head sliced open.

In less than five minutes, a chip smaller than a fingernail was removed.

The professor carefully cleaned the chip and placed it in a receptacle by the side. He proceeded to stitch the cut on the back of Fan Shun's head. After he was done, he readied the equipment and looked at Fan Shun. "I…"

Before he was able to speak, the sound of alarms could be heard coming from outside.

When the professor heard the commotion, something changed in his expression.

Someone anxiously opened the door and ran in from outside. He spoke worriedly, "Oh no. Lots of people are outside along with a few fighter planes. The building is completely surrounded."

The professor's hand trembled hearing this. He nearly pressed the wrong control button on the equipment. "Why did they get here so quickly?"

He had only just removed the chip and had yet to finish the process.

"Why are you so scared?" Fan Shun opened his eyes. Even after hearing his subordinate's reports, he did not get worried. He quickly gave the order. "Activate the building security system. Before the surgery is done, you have to stop them from entering."

"They came prepared and we might…" The subordinate wanted to say that they might not be able to stop them, but the moment Fan Shun looked at him coldly, he promptly swallowed his words.

Fan Shun veered his head and looked at the man lying in the metallic bed beside him. He laughed coldly and said, "Tell them that if they dare to barge in here forcibly, they should be prepared to let Min Yu die."

He had plotted this for years, so he could not allow everything to fail.

Hearing this, his subordinate left the laboratory hurriedly.

Fan Shun told the professor to continue.

"Okay." The professor inhaled deeply. He disregarded the distraction coming from the sirens outside and set up the data on the high-precision equipment.
