Chapter 725 Disgraceful Fudge
Under the impact of the "good news" brought by Rove and Dumbledore one after another, Minister Fudge failed to withstand it and passed out on the spot.
In fact, it's no wonder that Fudge's psychological defense is weak. Whoever would be the Minister of Magic would collapse if he was woken up in the middle of the night and told that the Death Eaters had collectively escaped from prison.
So Rolf, the veterinarian, came in handy. He first choked the person, then performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation. He also asked Umbridge to give Fudge artificial respiration and spray water on his face.
Under Rove's superb medical skills, Fudge finally woke up. He was breathing heavily, wiping the water from his cheeks, and trembling in fear:
"The Death Eaters... escaped from prison collectively? This is impossible... absolutely impossible... If they escaped from prison... the dementors would definitely give feedback."
"The Death Eaters were in prison and attacked several Aurors who were going to Azkaban." Dumbledore explained:
"If I'm not mistaken, they used Polyjuice Potion to look like Aurors, put those Aurors in their cells instead, and then left Azkaban.
Dementors are blind. They can only smell a few wizards coming in and a few wizards leaving, so they are not alerted. "
"This is impossible." Fudge retorted: "The Death Eaters are imprisoned in Azkaban, where can they get Polyjuice Potion, and they don't have wands, so how can they attack Aurors..."
"Bring Voldemort in," Rolf interjected, "Do you remember that Dementor that disappeared for several months before coming back? Voldemort lived in it and entered Azkaban."
Fudge's eyes suddenly widened, his mouth opened in shock, and he couldn't speak for several seconds. He stared at Rolf and stammered:
"The mysterious man is living in a dementor? Rolf, don't be kidding me... The mysterious man has been dead for a long time... He was killed by the Boy-Who-Lived that night thirteen years ago..."
"Obviously." Rolf shrugged, "Voldemort is dead, but not completely dead."
Umbridge looked at Fudge, who was trembling all over. She suddenly whispered and asked:
"Mr. Scamander, how do you know these things?"
Rolf had goosebumps as he listened to Umbridge's voice. He endured the discomfort and pointed to the pensieve on the table:
"Before he died, Barty Crouch gave me his memories, which included how Voldemort and Death Eaters attacked Aurors."
Umbridge let out a long sigh and her eyes lit up. "So, You-Know-Who and the Death Eaters' escape from prison...are all things in Barty Crouch's memory?"
Minister Fudge listened to Umbridge's words and said excitedly like a drowning man grabbing a life-saving straw:
"Barty Crouch memory? That must be a fake! Rolf, don't forget, you exposed the secret of Crouch and his son and sent them to Azkaban."
"And I -" Fudge pointed to himself again and said emotionally:
"Stealing Crouch's coveted position as Minister of Magic, we are the two wizards he hates most in the world.
He must have deliberately modified his memory to mislead you into believing that the mysterious person is still alive and make everyone think you are crazy;
He also wanted to trick me into believing that the Death Eaters had escaped from prison en masse. Once he really announced this news, he would definitely be kicked out! "
"It's so vicious!" Fudge became more and more excited as he spoke. His face turned red and he walked around Luo Fei:
"Crouch was still able to come up with such a destructive trick before he died. Rove, you must not be fooled!"
Luo Fu was noncommittal and just said softly:
"Mr. Minister, if you go to Azkaban now and have a look, you will be able to tell the truth from the false.
You can also summon the Aurors who were attacked to check for Polyjuice Potion.
But I think they may have disappeared now. "
Fudge's face was uncertain. He turned to look at Dumbledore and said:
"Albus, you won't be deceived by Crouch like Rove..."
"Cornelly, the Death Eaters have escaped from prison. With their help, Voldemort will definitely regain his previous powerful magic power." Dumbledore said seriously:
"You need to take necessary measures immediately. We may still be able to save the situation. First, the most important step is to arrest those Death Eaters who escaped from prison-"
"Albus, it's impossible for me to hunt down criminals who are still in Azkaban. That would be too funny!"
Fudge waved his arms excitedly. Seeing Dumbledore staring at him solemnly, he softened his tone and said:
"Okay, I'll go to Azkaban to check it out." After saying that, he walked quickly towards the door.
After the minister and Umbridge left, Professor Moody immediately said:
"Albus, from what I know about Fudge, whatever he finds in Azkaban, those Death Eaters will not be wanted."
"Yes." Dumbledore said solemnly. "Fudge was afraid that if he announced that a group of Death Eaters had escaped from prison, he would be driven out by an angry crowd."
Luofu stood aside and said nothing, but his eyes flickered. If Fudge didn't want to be decent, then he had to help him be decent.
…
…
The ancient cemetery is filled with graves covered with lichen. The tombstones in front of those graves are all engraved with the same pattern:
A shield with a mountain symbol, two five-pointed stars and a short sword, flanked by two leaping greyhounds.
Voldemort was floating in front of a tombstone, and after quietly listening to Barty Crouch Jr.'s intermittent report, he said in a hoarse voice:
"So, not only did you fail to kill Barty Crouch, but you also let Rolf Scamander find him, and you were even almost killed by Scamander?!"
Barty Crouch Jr. felt a huge murderous aura pressing towards him, and the aura was more biting than the cold wind in the cemetery.
"Master...it's all my fault..." Barty Crouch Jr. murmured as he lay on the ground.
"Since you know you are incompetent, you shouldn't come back alive." Voldemort said coldly.
Bellatrix stood aside and stared at little Barty. He was now covered in blood, with wounds from his shoulders to his waist. His whole body was almost split in half by a top-down blow.
Under such serious injury, although little Barty was not dead for a while, he was still dying and his breath was lifeless.
If it were before, Bellatrix would have ridiculed Barty Crouch Jr. as a waste.
But at the Merlin Medal Award Ceremony a year ago, she used Polyjuice Potion to disguise herself as Lady Karst and attacked Scamander, but was seriously injured and then ran away.
Bella herself is like this, so it's really hard to scold Barty. After all, she doesn't want to be hit by her own boomerang.
Voldemort suddenly asked: "Bella, how are the arrangements for Azkaban?"
"All the wizards who took Polyjuice Potion and stayed in Azkaban instead of us have been killed." Bella said immediately, but she still hesitated and asked:
"Master, can you deceive Dumbledore?"
"You don't need to deceive him." Voldemort sneered: "Just deceive the Ministry of Magic. Dumbledore is not the minister, he is just the cricket headmaster of Hogwarts."
Voldemort glanced at the dying Barty Crouch Jr. and said coldly:
"Take him down and treat his injuries...he can't die yet."
"Yes, Master." Bella waved her wand and left quickly with Barty Crouch Jr.
As soon as she walked out of the cemetery, she heard the demon's angry curses.
"Rolf Scamander...it's you again...it's you every time...after I'm resurrected, I will definitely kill you, skin you and cramp you, and make you into an inferi..."
