Chapter 84: Dumbledore's wool socks

Chapter 84 Dumbledore’s Wool Socks

Professor McGonagall sent Kyle to the gargoyle on the eighth floor and left. Before leaving, she helped give the password.

 “Lemon Sherbet.”

 …

The principal's office was still the same, with Fox still hanging on the shelf. When he saw Kyle, he just raised his head slightly, which was regarded as a greeting.

Kyle took out a handful of fresh white leaves as a greeting gift and placed them next to the shelf.

Dumbledore did not disappear this time. He just sat there with a smile. There was a familiar bottle on the table in front of him.

"I hope I didn't disturb you." Dumbledore stood up from his chair and handed the magic suppressing potion on the table to Kyle: "You know, it's just like last time."

“Of course Principal.” Kyle nodded, took the bottle and said, “I’m going to give it to Mikel right now.”

"Well... don't worry about this. If you have nothing to do, can you chat with me, an old man?"

Seeing that Kyle didn't speak, Dumbledore continued: "Don't be nervous, just chat casually, just like when you were at Newt's place."

"I'm just a little surprised." Kyle scratched his hair and said, "But principal, um... I only have white fresh leaves now, and there are really no bluebells left."

   …”

"Fox has a good personality and won't be angry all the time." Dumbledore's expression stiffened slightly, but he quickly returned to normal.

“I got your Christmas present,” he said, ordering Kyle a glass of fresh lemonade. “I finished it that same day and re-read it many times... It was fascinating.”

At first, Kyle thought Dumbledore was just being polite, but the next second he realized that he was wrong.

Because Dumbledore actually took out two pairs of wool socks from the desk drawer.

One pair is red with gold rim.

The other pair is slightly smaller and is blue and pink.

But both pairs of socks have a big letter "A" embroidered on them.

Kyle raised his head and asked subconsciously: "This is...did you knit it?"

"Yes." Dumbledore said proudly: "I have a pretty good talent for knitting socks, and I succeeded on the first try."

Kyle opened his mouth, but for a moment he didn't know what to say.

What's going on in this magical world?

President of the International Confederation of Wizards, First-Class Grand Wizard of the Order of Merlin, Chief of the Wizengamot, Dumbledore, recognized as the strongest white wizard in the wizarding world...actually proud of his talent for knitting socks?

Looking at his happy look, he seems to be a little proud.

“You do a great job, Headmaster,” Kyle said dryly.

"Thanks."

Dumbledore put away the two pairs of woolen socks and suddenly sighed: "Probably the most regretful thing I regret this year is that I didn't prepare a Christmas gift for you. This is really too bad."

Kyle waved his hands repeatedly.

He had never expected to receive a gift from Dumbledore.

But then again, as a standard good student, Kyle didn't want Dumbledore to feel guilty all the time.

An old man is still tormented by guilt. He looks distressed.

“How about you ask for a gift yourself?” Kyle touched his chin and thought to himself.

Although it was quite shameless to do this, it didn't matter if he suffered a little injustice for the sake of the principal.

Kyle subconsciously moved his eyes to the corner of the principal's office. There was a mirror there that was dusty. It shouldn't be worth much, so just choose it.

Or the crudely made stone basin next to it will also work.

It's just for show anyway, it's perfect to choose this kind of street stall where you can buy ten bargains for one item.

 “I’m so considerate.”

Kyle didn't hide his actions.

Beside him, Dumbledore seemed to have guessed something, and the corner of his mouth twitched slightly. At this moment, Kyle just turned his head and said, "Principal, you can send..."

“Can I give you a glass of lemonade? Of course, no problem.”

Dumbledore knocked on the table and ordered another glass of lemonade.

 “No, I mean today…”

“The weather is really nice today.”

nice weather?

Kyle glanced out the window. It had been snowing outside all day, and it hadn't stopped yet.

However, Dumbledore did not give Kyle another chance to speak. He also looked out the window and said with some emotion: "I didn't even notice. Is it already so late?"

Kyle understands instantly.

Although he was a little regretful that he could not help Dumbledore solve his troubles, Kyle still said consciously:

“Then I’ll go back first, Mikel is still waiting to take medicine.”

"Do you need to bring some snacks back?" Dumbledore opened a drawer, which was full of various candies and preserves.

Kyle originally wanted to refuse, but he suddenly noticed that the candies seemed to be high-end goods, and there were many types that he had never even seen before.

 “Thank you on Mikel’s behalf.”

By the time Kyle left the principal's office, his two pockets were bulging with candy.

 As the oak door closes.

In the principal's office, Snape walked out of nowhere. He looked at Kyle's previous position and narrowed his eyes thoughtfully.

 “I’m a little curious, Severus.”

Dumbledore closed the drawer and hung a small, shiny lock on it.

“You specifically asked me to call Kyle here, why did you hide yourself?”

“You let him leave too early.”

Snape said expressionlessly: "As we agreed before, he should stay here for thirty minutes."

"The students all have their own things to do." Dumbledore took a sip of black tea and said, "Severus, we can't take up too much of their time."

"Oh? So that's what you think..." Snape glanced at the Mirror of Erised in the corner and then walked towards the door.

 “Severus.”

At this time, Dumbledore suddenly stopped him: "I think you are too prejudiced against Kyle."

Snape stopped, turned around and asked, "What do you want to say?"

"Kyle is a very good child." Dumbledore said calmly: "I learned that he gave gifts to every professor on Christmas Day, even Mrs. Norris, who was the least popular among the students. I received a package of dried fish.”

“Oh” Snape narrowed his eyes and asked again in a longer tone: “What do you want to say?”

"I think he may have forgotten his Potions Master by accident."

Dumbledore showed a smile and said: "You know, even I make such low-level mistakes occasionally. This is normal. You can't be prejudiced against Kyle because of this."

 “Perhaps, he has not forgotten.”

Snape snorted coldly, then opened the door and left the principal's office without looking back.
