Chapter 394: Thestral carriage

Chapter 394 The Night Horse Carriage

After the sumptuous dinner, everyone returned to their respective common rooms.

While walking out of the auditorium, Kyle was suddenly stopped.

“Looks like I came just in time.”

Professor Dumbledore stood at the door of the auditorium. When he saw Kyle, he took him directly to the aisle beside him.

“Do you remember the letter you asked me to deliver a few days ago?”

He said: "I received a reply from Nico at noon today. He asked me to send you there during the holiday.

“So, do you want to borrow Fox? If it’s Y, it shouldn’t refuse.”

I don’t know if it was an illusion, but Kyle vaguely smelled a sour smell.

He shook his head and asked:

  “…Is there any other way?”

If possible, Kyle didn't want to be carried away by the phoenix. Although this was the fastest way, it was too barbaric... He couldn't accept it.

Professor Dumbledore thought for a while, "Of course, it will just be a little slower."

"It doesn't matter." Kyle said quickly, "I'm not in a hurry."

"Oh well…"

The two talked for a while, and after about a few minutes, Kyle returned to the Hufflepuff common room.

Because tomorrow is the holiday, the students all looked very excited and sat there loudly discussing their plans for the next two weeks.

Kyle did not participate in their discussion, but went straight back to the dormitory.

 …

The next day, Kyle got up as usual. There was no one in the dormitory. He packed his things and opened the door of the dormitory.

The common room was empty except for Connor, sitting in a chair near the fireplace, doing her homework.

After hearing the movement, she raised her head casually and said:

 “Hello, Winsty…wait, Kyle?”

Kanna was a little surprised, and immediately jumped up from the chair, pulling Kyle with her and running out.

"Hurry, hurry up... I hope the train hasn't left yet." She said anxiously, "Really, why did you wake up just now? I would have called you if I had known."

 “Don’t worry, it’ll be fine.”

Kyle took her arm with his backhand and explained: "The train left ten minutes ago, and I have other arrangements so I don't need to take the train."

"Other arrangements?" Kangna glanced at him doubtfully, "Have you decided to stay in school too?"

"No." Kyle shook his head, "It's just that we don't have to take the train. Remember, Professor Dumbledore came to me yesterday for this very reason."

Hearing what he said, Kangna breathed a sigh of relief, turned around and returned to her previous seat.

“Why are you alone, Cedric?” Kyle asked.

“I went out,” Kangna said. “I went out early in the morning. I didn’t say where I went.”

“Are you the only one left here?”

“No, there is also Winsty, a fifth-grade student.”

Kyle nodded and went to the kitchen to get some food.

Hunted until about ten o'clock in the morning, Cedric never came back. A brown owl flew in from the window and threw a note to Kyle.

“I have to go.” Kyle looked at the content above, stood up and said:

“Have a great time during the holidays and Merry Christmas!”

"Merry Chrismas!"

After leaving the common room, Kyle did not go to Hogsmeade Station. Instead, he turned a corner on a branch road near the platform and came to the place where they took the carriage at the beginning of school.

This is a very remote place. Usually almost no one comes here, but today is an exception.

"Kyle, this way!" Hagrid seemed to have been waiting here, and he waved quickly when he saw Kyle.

There was a carriage parked next to him.

Different from the one we rode at the beginning of school, this carriage had three Thestrals in front of it.

“The principal told me you might need this.”

Hagrid patted the skinny wings of his Thestral and said with a smile: "Are you ready to go home?

“If you ask me, your choice is great. The Hogwarts Express and the Thestral Carriage are the best means of transportation.

“But remember to take good care of them when you get home. I have put the food for these little guys in the carriage, which is enough for them to eat for two weeks.”

"Thank you, Hagrid." Kyle stepped forward and smiled: "But I didn't borrow the Thestral just to avoid taking the train... and Professor Dumbledore would not agree to such a request.

“It’s just that the place I want to go is a bit hidden. It can’t be reached by train or bus, so I can only choose this more ancient way of travel.”

 “That’s it, no wonder…”

Hagrid didn’t ask where Kyle was going, but just asked: “Have you ever taken this kind of transportation before?”

 “No.” Kyle shook his head.

He didn't know if there was a Thestral in Newt's box, maybe there was... but he had never seen one, let alone rode one in a Thestral carriage.

After all, he had not been able to see this magical animal until the past two years.

After Kyle got on the carriage, Hagrid handed him the reins.

“Relax, they are smart and the carriage is safe, all you have to do is trust them.”

When Kyle grabbed the reins, the Thestral in the middle looked back at him and made a short chirp, as if asking when to set off.

“Any time,” Kyle said. “You know the location, right?”

Thestrals nodded and spread their wings suddenly.

The fallen leaves on the ground were blown everywhere. After the carriage galloped forward for a certain distance, it suddenly took off and flew into the sky.

Kyle poked his head out of the car. Hagrid was standing there waving his arms. Kyle also waved.

The carriage moved very quickly, and Hagrid's figure became smaller and smaller, until after turning a corner, he could no longer be seen at all.

The carriage shuttled between the clouds, flying over mountains, rivers, villages, and then bustling towns and cities...

But no matter where they went, the people down there didn’t notice anything strange.

Kyle noticed that several hidden magic symbols in the carriage lit up slightly. If he read it correctly, it should mean "hidden".

Two hours later, Kyle also saw the Hogwarts Express.

Looking down from his current position, the train was as small as a toy. The Thestrals quickly chased it from the rear to the front, and then left it far behind.

No wonder Hagrid looked down on the Hogwarts Express so much before. In terms of speed alone, the Thestral Carriage completely beats it.

The comfort level is also unmatched.

At such a fast speed, he was still flying, but Kyle in the car didn't feel any bumps at all.

It feels like sitting in the auditorium of a castle.

Until the train disappeared from sight, Kyle didn't look outside again.

Mainly because further ahead, the clouds have begun to thicken.

Just now he just opened the crack a little bit, and the cold and humid air outside would hit his face in big puffs. It was really an uncomfortable feeling.
