Chapter 594: sudden interrogation

Chapter 594 Sudden interrogation

By the time Kyle came out of the Department of Mysteries, it was business time for the Ministry of Magic, but Diana was not in a hurry to let Chris take Kyle away.

“Give me your wand,” she said.

Although Kyle was a little confused, he still took out the wand from his pocket and handed it over.

Diana took it and placed her index finger on the tip of the wand. Then, several red sparks flashed at the tip of the wand.

I don’t know what Diana did, but her expression was indeed not very good, which can be seen from the way Chris moved back a little bit.

Finally, Diana couldn't hold it back anymore and raised her hand to hit Kyle on the head.

“Don’t use the Fire Curse in the future.” She said, “This curse is difficult to control, and once discovered, the punishment is not much lighter than the Unforgivable Curse.”

Although it didn't hurt this time, Kyle still covered his head and screamed twice, while defending himself:

"They are all Death Eaters. If I don't use the Fire Curse, they will use it."

"That's true..." Diana said, "But as long as they are not completely exposed, their identities are not Death Eaters, but it is a fact that you used the Fire Curse, and it is easy to find out."

“Pre-flashback spell.” Kyle murmured. He had a feeling that this inquiry was not as simple as it seemed.

"It seems you have figured it out." Diana returned the wand to Kyle and said meaningfully: "You should take the box with you and be more vigilant."

 …

After that, Diana returned to the Department of Mysteries, while Chris took Kyle in the elevator all the way up to the floor of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.

As the two of them walked through the crowded corridor, Chris said: "It's still a while before the appointed time, let's go get something first."

This place is completely different from the Department of Mysteries. The corridors are filled with cardboard boxes and sundries, making it extremely crowded.

"Sorry, let me borrow it." A man rushed over from behind, holding a box in his hand.

“Bob?” Chris stopped him, “Didn’t you go to Cornwall with Amos?”

“Oh, Chris, I was looking for you,” said the worker named Bob. “We found this over there.”

He pushed the box forward in his hand.

“Amos and I thought it was just an ordinary chicken on the farm, but we didn’t expect that it actually breathed fire.”

As he was talking, a small wisp of flames spurted out of the box, and a hole was quickly burned into the cardboard box.

But fortunately it was just a flame.

“Clear water is like a spring!”

A spring of water poured on the carton, extinguishing the flames in time.

Chris opened the box, took a look, and checked it again with his wand.

“Obvious traces of magic writing... Go find someone from the Department of Law Enforcement. This behavior has seriously violated the "Animal Breeding Experiment Prohibition Act. Let the strikers bring the person back."

“Okay, I’ll go right away.” Bob hurriedly walked back, but after a while he came back again.

“What should I do with this?” he asked, raising the box in his hand.

“Send it to the forest. This kind of situation must not be left outside.”

Bob ran to the end of the corridor, opened a door and walked in.

“That’s the room where experimental animals are stored.” Looking at Kyle’s curious look, Chris explained: “There is a real forest inside that is used to raise various confiscated magical animals.”

"Oh..." Kyle nodded and asked, "Are there many such things?"

“Not too little.” Chris sighed, “Sometimes a wizard can cause us a lot of trouble with a flash of inspiration.”

Looking at Chris's helpless look, Kyle subconsciously thought of Hagrid.

He seems to be one of the members who had "a flash of inspiration", such as the Blast-Ended Skrewt from last school year, but Chris probably doesn't know about this yet. Afterwards, Kyle followed Chris to his office...the deputy director's office.

Chris, who had been the director for one year, seemed to be back in office again.

“Who is the current director?” Kyle asked.

"I don't know, the candidate has not been decided yet." Chris shook his head, "But there was news two days ago that Senior Deputy Minister Umbridge may temporarily act as director."

Chris was very calm when he spoke, and he was not dissatisfied at all about being "demoted".

"Okay, please sit down for a while." He said, "I have to look for the information I prepared yesterday."

Kyle found a sofa and sat down casually, looking at the furnishings in the office.

There are piles of files everywhere, a few spiky sticks are randomly placed in the corner, and the parchments stacked next to them are almost piled up to the ceiling.

 “Ah, found it!”

At this time, Chris took out a few pieces of parchment from the drawer of the table.

Kyle took a closer look and found that it was the content he copied from the "Restraint Law".

“It’s always good to be a little more prepared,” says Chris.

Then they left the office and took the elevator to the lobby of the Ministry of Magic again.

Kyle came to see Professor McGonagall. Dumbledore had said before that she would wait here, but Kyle and Chris walked back and forth here several times and found no sign of Professor McGonagall.

"Perhaps she has gone to the Legal Enforcement Department in advance." Chris glanced at the time, "There are still ten minutes, we have to go there."

“Okay,” Kyle said. He did not continue looking for Professor McGonagall, but went to the second floor with Chris, where the Legal Enforcement Department was located.

 But things changed here.

Originally, the place they agreed on was in Amelia Bones' office, but the staff member responsible for leading the way took him to another room.

Looking at the team of nearly thirty people in front of him, Kyle knew that his previous feeling was correct.

If it was just the "Restraint Act", how could so many people come... Even Scrimgeour, the director of the Auror Office, came.

 “Theodore Nott is dead.”

Scrimgeour didn't even exchange a few words. As soon as Kyle came in, he ordered someone to close the door and asked expressionlessly: "What do you think of this?"

"I'm sorry, I don't know who you're talking about," Kyle said. "And I came to the Ministry of Magic to explain the use of magic in the Leaky Cauldron, but your question obviously has nothing to do with that."

“That’s right, Scrimgeour.” Chris stood up and stood in front of Kyle, asking with a gloomy face:

"What are you doing? The notification we received was about the misuse of magic, instead of cooperating with you to investigate Nott."

"This is the minister's request, Chris." Next to Scrimgeour, a witch suddenly said: "Someone said that he saw Theodore Nott die at the hands of this child with his own eyes, and he used a fire curse. So we have to investigate."

 “Who is it?” Chris asked.

Amelia Bones subconsciously looked behind her.

At the same time, three people also stood up from the last row.

“Walton MacNeil…Igor Karkaroff, Lucius Malfoy…”

Chris read out their names respectively, and his face became more and more gloomy.

"They are witnesses." Amelia Bones said: "Given Mr. Karkaroff's identity, we have to pay attention, Chris, I hope you can understand."
