Chapter 633: Cedric the Traitor
Chapter 633 Cedric the Traitor
After leaving the Defense Against the Dark Arts office, Kyle did not go back to the Hufflepuff common room immediately. Instead, he turned a corner on the second floor and walked into an empty classroom with no one around.
"How about it…"
As soon as Kyle entered, he heard an urgent sound coming from the classroom.
Connor walked over, followed by Cedric, Cho, Fred and George.
“Done.” Kyle extended his hand and gestured. “You can safely teach yourself Defense Against the Dark Arts. Just be careful and don’t get discovered.”
"Great!" Cedric said excitedly, "We have already discussed it. In order to prevent anyone from snitching, they must sign a magical contract before they get the location of the Room of Requirement."
"I am really yours, Kyle." Fred also said happily, "You actually deceived that Umbridge so easily. You are worthy of being the youngest member of Sir Merlin."
Kyle was speechless and didn't understand what this had to do with Sir Merlin.
"But..." George touched his eyes, "You are too harsh. If we don't go to the campus hospital, we will have to bear this thing for at least a week."
“Seriously, this is so embarrassing.” Fred sighed.
“We don’t dare to go to crowded places now…”
“And I have to cover my face even during class.”
"Didn't you say that a little injury can be more convincing?" Kyle said with a smile, "Facts have proved that you are right, because of the way you are now, Umbridge firmly believes in my words."
“We are talking about you.” George muttered: “Just think about it, the news that you went through all kinds of hardships and got back at the cost of being injured suddenly becomes more credible.”
“It doesn’t matter, the result is pretty good now anyway.”
Kyle said, “Besides, you were beaten like this three against one, can you blame me?
"Honestly, if I were you, I would be embarrassed to mention this matter. It's too embarrassing."
"It's two against one!" George corrected him seriously: "That guy Cedric is just watching over there, and he doesn't do anything to help...this traitor..."
"Huh?" Cedric scratched his hair and didn't understand why this matter happened to him. He was still a Hufflepuff no matter what. Even if he was acting, he couldn't help people from other houses.
Besides, even if he went to help, it might not have much effect. It would just be one more person with a black eye, so why bother.
It is better for two people to be injured than for three people to be wiped out. This is good for now.
But Cedric also knew that Fred and George were not in a good mood at the moment, so he wisely said nothing.
Kyle ignored Fred and George who were screaming, turned around and asked: "Have you set the time? When are you going to start?"
“Wednesday night,” said Cedric. "I originally wanted to set this time on the weekend, but everyone seems to have more important things, Quidditch training, or participating in a favorite club...Only Wednesday can stagger all the time."
“Remember to separate when the time comes.” Kyle reminded: “Gryffindor and Ravenclaw are fine, but it would be a bit strange for a large group of Hufflepuff students to suddenly run to the eighth floor.
“Or you can go to the kitchen and ask the house elves for help.”
“House elf?”
"That's right." Kyle explained: "The special magic of the house elves allows them to use Apparition in the school to transport you directly from the kitchen to the eighth floor and then pick you back up."
"Yes, house elves can use magic in school. How could I forget this?" Cedric said happily, "I just don't know if they will agree...I mean, almost never No one saw them using magic in school."
“It doesn’t matter, you’ll know after you try it.” Kyle said, “It’s just once a week, and you don’t go every day, so it shouldn’t be a problem.”
“That’s right.” Cedric nodded.
After discussing these matters, several people left the classroom.
Kyle and Connor were heading back to the common room, while Cedric followed Fred and George upstairs.
While there is still time, he is going to go find Hermione and Harry to discuss more details, such as the specific time, the content of the magical contract, and the content to be taught in class.
…
Being a professor for the first time... even in name only, Cedric was still very nervous, and the closer it got to Wednesday, the more obvious this feeling became.
Even during Quidditch practice the next day, he seemed distracted.
Several times, Kyle saw the Golden Snitch flying past, but Cedric didn't react at all. He just looked ahead unconsciously, not knowing what he was thinking.
Kyle controlled the Firebolt, turned around lightly, and held the Golden Snitch in his hand. Under normal circumstances, he as a chaser should not grab the Golden Snitch. However, instead of having any objection, the other team members around him breathed a sigh of relief.
Because they have been flying for two hours.
Training is a boring thing. There are usually various tactics, but it is not particularly boring.
But today was different, because the captain could never catch the Golden Snitch, and they never changed their tactics from beginning to end. In the end, everyone even slowly threw the Quaffle into the goal post like they were doing a history of magic homework.
This kind of training can be said to be meaningless.
“Oh, sorry Kyle, I got distracted.” Cedric scratched his head, “I can’t help but think about what’s going to happen tomorrow night.
“I don’t know if I’m prepared enough, and if I can help everyone solve the problem. As long as I think about this, it’s hard for me to calm down.”
Kyle put away the Firebolt and walked toward the castle with the others.
“Relax, it’s just an after-school tutoring session, it’s not that scary.”
"I know the truth, but I can't help it." Cedric sighed. "Every time I have some free time, I can't help but worry. I'm afraid that I won't do well and will make a mess, and then everyone will go down. Then they all stopped coming.”
"You should learn from Harry, he doesn't look nervous at all." Kyle said with a smile.
"As for whether they will come next time, you don't need to care, unless your teaching is worse than Umbridge... To be honest, this is much more difficult than if you don't make mistakes."
“You are right.” Cedric finally forced a smile on his face, “I have never seen a worse professor than Umbridge…”
By the time the two returned to the castle, it was almost the curfew time. At this time, Filch happened to come down from upstairs. He looked at the two people's attire, and his face immediately became ugly.
"You..." He first glanced at the ground and found that there were no muddy footprints on it, and then quickly changed his words: "You are still wandering around so late, do you want to go on a night trip?"
"Mr. Filch, we have just returned from training," Cedric said.
"It's best this way." Filch looked at them with a sneer, "If I catch you making any mistakes, I'm sure Professor Umbridge won't mind if I take you to the dungeon.
"After so many years, the school finally has a reliable professor..."
Cedric frowned, and after passing through the hall, he whispered to Kyle:
“Filch is getting annoying again.”
"Yeah," Kyle said, "because there are people backing him up."
Because Umbridge came to the school (at least on the surface), Filch finally found someone who thought the same as him.
This also caused Snape's status in his heart to be quickly replaced by Umbridge's.
When he used to scare students, he would always threaten them to tell Professor Snape. This trick was quite effective, especially for Gryffindor students.
Until Umbridge became the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.
Filch was pleasantly surprised to find that this professor had surprisingly consistent ideas with his own, and his punishment was much more serious than that of other professors.
More importantly, she has greater power and can change school rules at any time.
As a result, Filch swelled, and he even forgot what happened last year, and began to become the same as before, patrolling the castle happily, bent on catching more students who violated school rules.
He seemed to think that as long as there were enough people violating school rules, there would be a reason to reopen the dungeon.
“This annoying guy…”
“And there’s that annoying Umbridge…”
“Keep your voice down, don’t be heard.”
As soon as Filch left, people started talking in low voices.
They still liked Filch better when he first started school, at least he wasn't as annoying then as he is now.
