As she continued reading, Sihwa temporarily forgot about the mobile phone on the side and the viewers who were watching her live broadcast. She was simply immersed in Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy Tales.

The underwater world described by Andersen was different from the real underwater world that she knew; it was full of childlikeness and the good things from people’s imagination. But that did not prevent her from quickly substituting herself into the smallest mermaid in the fairy tale.

Like the protagonist, she was also infatuated with an illusory prince and was head over heels for him. She couldn’t wait to see him and be with him. But life had to play a cruel joke on them.

Both Sihwa and the protagonist had no legs, so they were unable to set foot on land. They could only endure their yearnings for the land day after day as they watched their prince leave them.

Reading up to there, Sihwa was very anxious for the protagonist, and she wanted to know the ending immediately.

Like many fairy tales, the witch made her appearance, and she provided the protagonist with a seemingly cruel trade: to give her beautiful voice in exchange for a pair of legs. Each step she took, however, would be like walking on a sharp knife. That reminded Sihwa of Fina’s proposal.

Don’t accept it! How could this be tolerated? Sihwa anxiously shouted to the protagonist in her mind.

However, the protagonist accepted the trade and got her legs. Ever since then, she had set foot on the land and spent a wonderful time with the prince.

Sihwa was no longer naive like she was when she was first born into the world. Reading up until there, she suddenly realized a very strange thing: The image of the prince was very vague. It was only revealed that he was about sixteen years old and had a big pair of black, dark eyes. He was very handsome, but compared to the witch, his image was not as notable. Sihwa just couldn’t draw out his appearance in her mind, which was very abnormal for a world renowned writer.

The prince seemed to be a fool. He had actually recognized the wrong person and had mistaken another human girl as his savior.

He was not only stupid, but also blind. The little mermaid who became a human had climbed up a mountain with him, and everyone could see her feet bleeding, but he did not give an order to stop and return.

With him being like that, how could he still have the guts to say that she was his dearest person? Was that how he treated the dearest one to him?

Reading up until there, Sihwa was on the verge of blowing up!

Why did the protagonist fall for such scum? Was it just because he was handsome and it was a love at first sight?

The most infuriating thing was that the prince was obviously using her as a substitute for his savior. She looked like his savior in his impression, so he brazenly asked for her to stay with him for a lifetime… But refused to marry her?

Even after the protagonist found out, she didn’t get angry… Instead, she shouted in her heart to look after him and love him.

Excuse me? Was the protagonist a masochist?

Sihwa couldn’t accept it and her lips trembled with anger, but she insisted on reading further. She hoped that the author could give an explanation that was convincing, and at the same time, she hoped that the protagonist would wake up quickly.

She hated the prince, but she also contradictorily hoped that he could turn over a new leaf and marry the protagonist. Otherwise, the protagonist would turn into sea foam… Aside from falling for the wrong person, the protagonist had not done anything wrong. So why was she subjected to such cruel punishment?

But he did not change for the better. When he saw the princess of the neighboring country, he realized that the princess was his savior, so he rushed over like a studhorse. The protagonist had no choice but to be happy for him.

Sihwa’s hands that were holding the book were trembling, and she didn’t want to continue reading. Every word was like a knife stabbing into her heart. Even a bystander like her was feeling such pain! The pitiful protagonist must have definitely been in great pain. Her heart was definitely hurting more than her feet!

Despite all that, Sihwa still wanted to know the ending, even if it was likely to be a tragedy based off of the audience’s bullet screens.

She continued to read.

When the prince and the princess were married, it would be the protagonist’s last night in the human world. When the sun rose, she would turn into sea foam and disappear forever.

The protagonist’s sisters did not give up on her; they were really fond of their youngest, foolish little sister. They willingly traded their beautiful, long hair to the witch in exchange the only thing to save their sister: a sharp knife. They told her that all she had to do was pierce the prince’s heart with the sharp knife, then her legs would disappear and she would regain her fishtail. With that, she’d then be able to return to the big mermaid’s family and comfort their old grandmother’s depressed heart.

Sihwa’s voice started to tremble with long pauses in between her words. Her heart was split into two contradictory halves: On one side, she found the prince to be very hateful, and the protagonist to be very pitiful. She felt that the protagonist should decisively stab the sharp knife into the heart of the prince. On the other hand, she felt that although the prince was stupid, blind, and a complete douchebag, did he really deserve death?

The protagonist did not hesitate. She kissed the prince, threw the sharp knife into the sea, then turned and jumped into the sea, turning into seafoam.

Sihwa’s heart seemed to have also turned into seafoam. It was all empty, and she had even forgotten about all the pain.

Generally speaking, the story should have ended here, but it did not.

The protagonist who had turned into seafoam did not lose her consciousness. Instead, she saw some transparent and imaginary creatures, and she herself had also obtained a similar form. She softly fluttered towards the sky.

The creatures told her that they were in the world of the spirits. Neither the daughter of the sea nor the daughter of the sky would have an eternal soul, but it was possible to create an eternal soul through the accumulation of good deeds. It may take three hundred years, or perhaps shorter.

They also told her that whenever they found a good child, they would get closer to the goal.

Sihwa thought that there would be more, but after she turned a page, she found that the next page was the beginning of another story.

What was going on? The story didn’t end when it should have, but it suddenly ended when it shouldn’t have?

Sihwa was bewildered. There seemed to have been some kind of separation between the small part of the story at the end and most of thee at the front… They were like two completely different stories. The front seemed to be a love story where one held the wrong belief until death, and the latter… seemed to have a deeper meaning.

The protagonist also behaved very strangely at the end. She no longer seemed to care for her love of the prince. She even lightly kissed the bride on her face, and smiled at the prince, as if she had put everything down.

While Sihwa was in a daze, time passed very quickly. Before she knew it, a low battery prompt popped up on the phone, and she also heard the sound of a car parking downstairs.

Not good! Zhang Zian’s back!

She had already forgotten that it was her last live broadcast. She hurriedly said goodbye to her audience, and before she even had the time to see if [Watermelon] had subscribed to her, she quickly quit the live app.

Just as she was done, she heard a weird cry from Wang Qian downstairs. “Master! You… what did you do? Did you take a bath at the beach? Why are you completely drenched?”
