Closing remarks

After much procrastination, I finally finished writing it.

It took me more than a year, and the length of two million words can be regarded as a full stop for this book, although it is not perfect.

If I were to give a review of this book myself, I think it is not a very qualified Weird Fan Fiction.

For me, the brilliance of Weird is actually the process of the world view being gradually unfolded in the first few volumes, the detailed description of life plots, the various potion methods that make people's eyes shine, and Mr. Fool's "pretentiousness" in Sefirah Castle.

The combination of slowly rising strength and the whole world has kept Klein from being out of touch with real life. He rents a house, works to make money... making the adventure more realistic, as if such a Weird World really exists.

The problem at the beginning of this book is the status and identity positioning.

The excessively high status makes the protagonist look "too powerful", resulting in the writing being empty and superficial, not real at all. Many readers have also pointed this out.

Generally, the main direction of novels with such settings is to describe various "pretentiousness", which is not a derogatory meaning.

But for a book like Weird Secret, although Klein is also pretending to be a fool, it is not a novel of the type of Long Aotian in essence. It is more about adventure, revealing secrets, and shaping the worldview.

Just like the Cthulhu Mythos, the unknown and mysterious are what attract people to Weird Secret.

Speaking of the protagonist, if he is of high status, it is fine, but with the identity positioning, it makes it difficult for the protagonist to take various adventures.

You can't let a noble take various tasks every day to make money and take risks, right?

I once thought about adding more adventure stories to the protagonist, but considering the identity and personality, I negated them one by one.

If the protagonist is positioned like Klein, I think the style of the whole book will be more pragmatic, not so empty, and lose the solid support of the specific storyline.

In addition to this aspect, there is also the story context and style that are gradually deviated.

Without saving drafts, writing on the same day, it is easy to let the writing mood and rush to work on the same day make the whole story deviate from the plan little by little and lose the original rhythm.

This is very important. You must have drafts when writing novels. It is not obvious in the short term, but it will definitely go astray in the long run.

Personal writing style. I have written other novels that are more like ancient language. I am used to using idioms, and, but, if, and other straightforward words. This is very obvious in the early stage of the novel, while the original text of Weird is obviously the euphemistic tone of the translated text.

In short, the flavor of Eastern fantasy novels has not yet been changed to the tone of Western magic novels.

If compared with Western literary novels, the difference in written expression is even greater.

Insufficient background and knowledge make it difficult to write a work that maintains a certain level.

Regarding the problem of dawdling at the end… I always lack sufficient motivation when writing the ending. I have already arranged the ending of the story, but I can't get interested in writing it.

It's like a novel that already knows the ending, so I can't get interested in reading it.

Of course, there is a little external factor… The game is a bit fun.

My favorite character in the whole book… is Susie!

Susie! Susie! Susie!

Important things should be said three times.

Every time I write a chapter about it, I smile knowingly, and I will write more carefully than other plots.

……

As for the new book, I have a lot of ideas and creativity in the process of writing. If I want to write, I should start a new book in a week.

This time, I want to write a more authentic Cthulhu novel, focusing on mystery and adventure.

For this reason, I bought a complete set of "The Complete Works of Sherlock Holmes" and "Cthulhu Mythos"... although I haven't finished reading them all.

……

Finally, thank you all readers for your continued support.

Among them, several readers vote for recommendations almost every day... even when I stopped updating, which really makes me ashamed and moved.
