Chapter 237
Chapter 237 – Venus Ruins
As the three great suns gradually descended beyond the horizon, the clouds were painted in shades of rose, crimson, and gold. Xu Disheng’s gaze was calm as he watched the scarlet beam of light disappearing off into the distance. Shangqing profound qi revolved around his body, and he also transformed into a beam of pale white light and shot forward towards the Yuluo Realm, breaking through the clouds and mist.
In the Shangqing Mountain Range, the Yuluo Realm…
Xu Disheng stood there in midair in front of the majestically towering border of the Yuluo Realm, which seemed to ripple with heaven-defying power of creation. He craned his neck, examining it for a moment. Before he had the chance to go in, a cold and solemn voice resounded in his ears.
Several streaks of profound light shot over from afar, stopping in front of the realm border. The one in the lead was a peak Dao Foundation stage patrol disciple. As he gazed at Xu Disheng, his brows furrowed and he spoke up.
“Which Peak’s disciple are you, wishing to trespass into the Shangqing Yuluo Realm?”
One of the other patrol disciples took a close look at Xu Disheng, his expression changing when he recognized him. He came forward and said, “Senior Martial Brother Zhao, it appears to be Soul Suppressor Sacred Son of the Mingxin Mountain Range.”
Zhao Zonghai nodded and waved his sleeve, signaling the other disciples to fall back. When he spoke next, his tone sounded more mild. “Soul Suppressor Sacred Son, you cannot enter the Yuluo Realm without permission, even with your title as a Sacred Son.”
Xu Disheng glanced off past the realm border, where the scarlet beam of light had already disappeared into the depths of the Yuluo Realm. “I am here for an audience with Realm Master Kunxu, at his command.”
“Where is your proof?” Zhao Zonghai said, seeming to have already expected this.
The Yuluo Realm was the location of many Primordial Lords’ domains, so the grand majority of disciples who came here had been summoned by one of the Primordial Lords.
Xu Disheng paused for a moment before replying, “That person in the scarlet beam of light just now was the person who brought me here.”
“Sacred Daughter Yao Tan?” Zhao Zonghai had his wits about him and had already more or less felt out the situation. But a trace of doubt still remained on his face. “Since Sacred Daughter Yao Tan was the one who brought you here, then why…”
“Let him in.” A girl’s enchanting voice as lustrous as pearls and as soothing as cool jade echoed in their ears. The hem of her red dress fluttered gently in the wind as she descended in front of the realm border.
“Greetings, Sacred Daughter Yao Tan,” Zhao Zonghai and the other patrol disciples lowered their heads, bowing with extreme respect.
“As you were.”
She didn’t pay them any more attention and simply waved her sleeve. A stream of scarlet profound light wrapped Xu Disheng up as she brought him into the Yuluo Realm.
“Realm Master Kunxu is one of the three venerated Realm Masters of the Yuluo Realm. His domain is called the Venus Ruins, and is located in the uppermost region of the Yuluo Realm, adjacent to Realm Master Qingfu’s domain,” Yao Tan explained properly, nothing like the way she had been acting before.
The surroundings blurred past them, but Xu Disheng was still able to glimpse the grand, magnificent appearances of the Primordial Lord domains in the Yuluo Realm.
Countless dauntingly powerful auras swept over him, and from time to time Divine Core stage Spirit Masters flew by, tearing through the void in beams of all different colors, but they never spared Xu Disheng and Yao Tan a single glance.
Only a few early Divine Core stage Spirit Masters would pause upon seeing Yao Tan, respectfully clasping their hands in salute.
“Haven’t you ever thought it strange, wondering where all the Sacred Sons and Sacred Daughters who entered the Yuluo Realm to go into secluded meditation throughout the countless ages went off to?” Yao Tan asked, turning to look at Xu Disheng. “Most of the Divine Core stage Spirit Masters you saw so far had once received the title of Sacred Son or Daughter.”
Xu Disheng glanced at her and shook his head. Soul Force rotating in his eyes like black vortexes, he looked up at the Venus Ruins, which they were fast approaching.
Once they entered the Venus Ruins in the upper area of the Yuluo Realm, Xu Disheng once again felt a sense of danger welling up in his mind. He felt his chest pounding, but the sensation was not as intense as the time when he met Greater Lord Quicksand.
In terms of cultivation base, Realm Master Kunxu was already extremely close to the Clone Avatar stage. Even if Xu Disheng wanted to use the Black Sky Yellow Earth Pagoda to flee, it wouldn’t be an easy task.
Yao Tan originally wanted to give him the cold shoulder regarding what was going on, but when she noticed Xu Disheng’s apparent disinterest in her question, she felt a bit disheartened. She huffed softly and said, “Several tens of thousands of years ago, Heavenly Lord Yu Jing personally attacked and destroyed a large-scale aristocratic family based on the border of the Eastern Region of the Human Realm. They had already long since weakened and decayed, so Heavenly Lord Yu Jing occupied their celestial land, where he established the Shangqing Yu Jing Sect. He dispatched a Clone Avatar stage Greater Lord to stand guard over the sect, and at that time had sent over many disciples as well.”
“In the tens of thousands of years after that, many Divine Core stage Spirit Masters, after relying purely on bitter, secluded cultivation to break through to the Primordial Spirit stage, were left without any prospects of further breaking through. One after another, they began to leave for the Shan Mountain Territory’s Shangqing Yu Jing Sect to search for destiny and inheritances. That’s why the Yuluo Realm seems somewhat empty.”
“Thank you for the explanation, Spirit Master,” Xu Disheng responded.
Over the course of their conversation, Yao Tan and Xu Disheng arrived outside the Venus Ruins Domain. Above the upper boundaries of the Yuluo Realm, there was a massive, immaculately white mirror made of water that spanned nearly the entire sky of the Yuluo Realm. It radiated with bright light and blossomed with a divine glow, illuminating every corner of the Yuluo Realm.
… …
“Lord Yu Jing, do you really have to respond to the conscription of the House of the Earth God?”
There was a gorgeous woman in palace garments standing before Heavenly Lord Yu Jing. Her eyes were filled with admiration and reverence as she beheld him, obscuring the sentiments she harbored for him.
“Red Nacre, your cultivation base is already at the Clone Avatar stage. Why do you still act so naive, asking such a silly question?”
Heavenly Lord Yu Jing was slender and tall, sculpted like fine jade. His gaze, which seemed to see through the permutations of all living things, unexpectedly contained a hint of a doting smile as he examined her face.
Naturally, she knew that the question was silly.
But the yearning, the feelings she had for him, seemed to completely swallow up any sense of reason when it came to him. When she was with him, she truly felt like an ordinary woman, without the slightest cultivation base. Simply gazing upon his figure was enough to set her mind at ease and allow her forget everything.
Out of all the Clone Avatar stage Greater Lords, Red Nacre was not only the last person to reach the Clone Avatar stage, but she was also the youngest. Furthermore, being the only woman, Heavenly Lord Yu Jing always took special care of her.
However, this being, who currently held some prestige in the Eastern region of the Human Realm, was undoubtedly a romantic at heart. Not to mention his previous companion, Heavenly Lord Yun Ling, who accompanied him that time to the Heavenly Nirvana Sect; even the ambiguous relationship he had with Greater Lord Qiansu from the Ancient Nuwa Sect was enough to make Red Nacre feel inferior.
That was why although Red Nacre had long harbored deep feelings for him, she had never revealed a hint of it. It wasn’t until after the Heavenly Bell of the House of the Earth God rang far and wide throughout the Human Realm that she couldn’t stop herself from personally coming here, all to ask such a silly question.
“Lord Yu Jing, all the beings who have left the Human Realm over the years have never returned. You…” Red Nacre said, her voice trembling somewhat. She turned her face away so Heavenly Lord Yu Jing couldn’t see the tears welling up in her eyes.
Heavenly Lord Yu Jing had long reached the Divine Sea stage, with the power to overturn heaven and earth with a mere thought. How could he not be aware of Red Nacre’s feelings?
However, he had too many emotional debts and couldn’t bear to hurt another woman who had admired him for a long time. At that moment, a white divine light appeared in his palm, and he uttered, “Mirror Image.”
As the words were spoken, endless torrents of the power of heaven and earth swept down, and after a short moment, the white divine light finished coalescing. A white mirror treasure appeared, scintillating with countless beams of divine light.
“Red Nacre, I give this mirror to you. It can protect you completely until you reach the Divine Sea stage.”
Red Nacre suddenly turned her head back, the misty tears in her eyes gone, replaced by a look of astonishment and joy.
Heavenly Lord Yu Jing withdrew his palm, letting the white mirror of water float there, the center of all the divine light. His form was about to turn into motes of light as he prepared to leave.
“Lord Yu Jing.”
A soft body hugged him from behind.
“In what way do I not measure up to Qiansu?”

This was the first time Red Nacre dared to be so bold. Her arms were wrapped tightly around his waist from behind. Her soft lips were slightly parted, and the words she murmured were like the beguiling whispers of a girl in her boudoir.
Heavenly Lord Yu Jing lightly shook himself free of her embrace, but he didn’t turn around. “Red Nacre, you…”
She mustered her courage again, resting her head lightly on his shoulder, and said tenderly, “Lord Yu Jing, take me.”
The moment these words left her mouth, Red Nacre’s fair face turned crimson, and her nearly translucent ears were completely dyed red.
But she received no response.
The man’s shoulders and eventually his entire body disintegrated into countless white motes of light, dissipating. Red Nacre’s arms grasped at thin air as he disappeared. She was powerless to make him stay.
The divine light receded, and she was left tightly gripping the white mirror treasure in her hand. A single clear tear rolled down her face and fell upon the mirror’s surface, where it disappeared without a trace.
