Chapter 7 Shelves
The next morning.
Maud opened his eyes, a look of weariness on his face.
After sorting out the information last night, it arrived in the early morning inadvertently.
I fell asleep exhausted and woke up less than two hours later.
Fortunately, I completed a hunt yesterday, otherwise this body would not be able to withstand the toss.
When he woke up, Maud couldn't sleep anymore.
Pulling off the quilt, got up and got out of bed.
I don't know what kind of work Sol will arrange for him.
Anyway, in order to settle down as soon as possible, he has already assumed the identity of a coolie by himself.
Rubbing his cheeks, Maud opened the door and walked out.
Needles were audible in the hallway, making the slight creaking sound of stepping on the wooden floor unusually audible.
At the dead end of the corridor, there is a wood-paneled window on the wall, and the early morning sunlight passes through the gap in the window, forming a speckled beam of light falling to the ground.
Maud glanced at the other closed doors, didn't stay too long, and walked to the corridor.
He went down the stairs to the first floor.
The corridor on the right leads directly to the storefront, and on the left is the living room and kitchen.
Maybe it's still early, and the shop door hasn't opened yet.
Sunny was awake, however, and was sitting at the dining table eating breakfast.
Maud went to wash briefly, and then came to the dining room connected to the kitchen.
He was starving.
I could endure it yesterday, but not today, and I don’t know if it’s a reaction caused by the good recovery of my body.
Sunny looked up at the starving Maud, pushed a glass of milk to the front of the seat, and motioned Maud to sit down to eat.
Maud was not polite, pulled out the chair and sat down.
Out of the corner of the eye, he noticed that there was a set of dishes with some residue in front of the other empty seat, which was probably left by Sol after eating.
Maud raised the wooden cup and took a sip of milk, frowning slightly, only to feel that the mouth was full of the unique smell of raw milk.
Endured the discomfort and drank the raw milk, then picked up a piece of meat steak and took a few bites. There was an illusion of being alive again.
I have to say, this shop looks shabby, but the food is really good.
But what makes Maud most comfortable is the casualness shown by Sol and Sunny, which is quite different from the expected pirates.
And, in a sense, Thor was his savior.
After swallowing a few steaks in a row, Maud slowed down.
He glanced at Sunny, who had almost eaten, thinking about the precautions written on the paper yesterday that he could not go out during the day and night, and his mind moved.
"Sunny, Mad Hatter... what kind of place is it?"
"Don't you know if you go out and take a look?"
"???"
Maud raised a question mark.
The contents of the paper given yesterday can still be vividly remembered.
Looking at Sunny's expressionless face, Maud wondered if this guy was avenging himself for perfunctory her yesterday.
wow-
Just as he was thinking about it, he heard the sound of Sunny pushing away the chair.
"Clean these up after eating, and then clean up the shop. I'll give you half an hour."
Abandoning these words, Sunny went to the second floor without looking back.
Maud shook his head, swept away the rest of his breakfast, and began to pack up.
If he was only in charge of cleaning, his coolie job would be too easy.
After clearing the table, Maud came into the store with cleaning tools.
Maud pays extra attention when cleaning the shelves.
After all, one of the precautions Sunny gave was not to touch these weapons on sale.
You can't touch it, but you can see it.
There are three shelves in the store. The first shelf is filled with swords of various styles, the second shelf is filled with flintlock guns of different lengths, and the third shelf is a mix of swords and firearms.
If I remember correctly,
Yesterday, Watt's blood-stained long knife was wiped clean by Thor and placed on the third shelf.
Looking at the third shelf, which was obviously overwhelming in number, Maud recalled the actions that Sol was quite familiar with yesterday, and couldn't help but ponder: "..."
A shelf dedicated to second-hand goods?
And the source of goods need not say more.
However, strictly speaking, as long as there is no substantial damage to a cold weapon like a sword, it doesn't matter if it is second-hand or not.
He looked away from the third shelf, and turned to the shelf with more than a dozen guns.
There are not many, but the shelves seem to be empty.
Maud looked at the guns.
Whether it's Earth or Hunter World, guns have always been stronger than cold weapons.
Compared with cold weapons such as swords, Maud knows more about guns.
When he was in Hunter World, even though his cultivation had reached the point where he no longer needed to rely on guns, he would still wear a pistol with him.
In terms of gun skills, I dare not say that it is very smooth, but it can guarantee the basic shooting accuracy.
However, he also knows that in the world of One Piece, the presence of cold weapons such as swords is much stronger than that of firearms.
Among those ruthless people who have cultivated to a certain level, most of them also use cold weapons instead of firearms.
But it doesn't mean that the upper limit of firearms is not enough, it's just that there are only a handful of people who can make the most of the [range advantage] of firearms.
"Is Keanu's gun in here too?"
Maud suddenly thought of Kidd, who came to the store yesterday.
The so-called Keanu gun can make Kidd so persistent, and the quality is definitely not low.
Looking closely at the handful of guns on the shelf, Maud, who is only familiar with modern firearms, can't really see why.
With his current knowledge of flintlock guns, he couldn't tell whether the dozen or so flintlock guns were good or bad, let alone find out Keanu's guns.
"You have to get one and use it as soon as possible."
Although the firearms are not as powerful as modern firearms, it does not affect Maud's attention to them.
Glancing at the flintlock guns on the shelf, Maud's mood floated.
In the early days of hunting, what was most lacking was a simple and crude killing tool like a firearm.
Resisting the urge to pass a second-hand flintlock gun from the third shelf, Maud quickly cleaned the shelf.
After cleaning, he threw the cleaning tools back into the storage room, exactly half an hour later.
Then, Sunny went downstairs on time and came to the store.
Maud was keenly aware that Sonny seemed to be in a good mood.
He didn't know that the reason why Sunny was in a good mood was because she thought that she would not have to do those rough and tiring tasks for a while in the future.
If Maud does not die prematurely, this time will be extended indefinitely.
Under Maud's gaze, Sunny pulled out a ruler from the counter, walked to the shelf, and measured the items on it.
That move made Maud's scalp tingle.
Come on, play so big?
He thought that Sonny was using the ruler to measure the items on the shelf to check if he was touching the items randomly.
But after taking a closer look, he found that this was not the case.
Silently watching Sunny fine-tune the items after the comparison, Maud only felt that his scalp was even more numb.
Not daring to disturb Sonny, Maud waited patiently.
An hour later, Sunny was finally done, and this was the beginning of a new day's business.
"Where's Sol?"
Seeing that Sol didn't come down for a long time, Maud was a little strange.
Sunny, who was sitting at the counter, glanced at him and said blankly, "Sol went to Huajie for morning exercises, and usually comes back before lunch."
"Oh, I went to practice in the morning."
Maud was stunned, no wonder Saul was so old that he could still maintain his strength.
Um?
and many more.
Something seems wrong?
