Chapter 1320 Maitreya Inner Court, Longhua Three Meetings

On the third floor of the pagoda, there was only a slightly fat old monk sitting cross-legged.

The old monk's figure was trembling in the luxuriant light, as if it was real or illusory. When he saw Su Wu walking down the third floor of the pagoda, he raised his drooping eyelids, looked at the lotus with only one petal on Su Wu's head, and said: "Stay here, practice my 'theory of cause and effect', observe the 'dharma appearance' and give birth to no appearance, reach the seventeenth realm, and obtain the bodhisattva fruit."

Su Wu smiled when he heard what the slightly fat monk said, and asked him: "Which place among the seventeen places are you in now?"

"The place I heard about." The slightly fat old monk folded his hands and answered.

The so-called "seventeen stages" are the seventeen kinds of Buddhist practice realms mentioned in the "Yoga Sastra", and the "hearing-accomplished stage" is ranked tenth. The highest realm corresponds to the Buddha's "no remaining support stage", below which are the sixteenth stage "remaining support stage" and the fifteenth stage "Bodhisattva stage".

If divided according to these seventeen stages, Jinglian's Buddhist practice is already at the fourteenth stage "solitary enlightenment stage", and has already "completed the karma and emptiness" and "completed the views and thoughts".

This is the realm of "Buddha on the ground" and "Arhat on the body", so Jinglian is revered as "Jinglian Transformation Bodhisattva".

"Which stage am I in now?" Su Wu approached the monk and asked him condescendingly.

The slightly plump old monk looked up at Su Wu's face, but only saw a vague light. In the light that was always separated from his eyes, a round red sun suddenly appeared. The old monk lowered his head, and his body suddenly turned into light dust, which turned into the Sanskrit secrets of "theory of logic" and "dharma-nature method", flowing to the lotus with only one petal on Su Wu's head. Under the gathering and infusion of these many Sanskrit essences, the lotus immediately bloomed a second petal! In the endless light dust, the old monk's voice sounded: "Venerable, this is the thirteenth level, to the "sravaka level", the first sight of the "four truths", and the advance entry into the "holy way of law"..." The light dust dissipated silently. In the dark corner, steps appeared again. As Su Wu walked up from the first floor of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, he felt that he was not going up to the top of the pagoda, but going down to the bottom of the pagoda. When he stepped onto the stairs to the fourth floor, the dark interior of the pagoda was suddenly illuminated by the sparkling waves.

Where are the shadows of earthen brick buildings around?

Where is the Big Wild Goose Pagoda?

Stalactites and chalcedony hang above his head, protruding sharp corners. The dark rocks are shining like veins under the reflection of the water, and the sparkling water comes from his side - there is an underground river flowing forward slowly.

There is no light source around, and the river water is already shining.

In this underground river, the "wisdom light" is shining, and the "dharma nature" is flowing, as if it is a long river of dharma nature flowing from the soul of a monk who has realized the emptiness!

As he approached the long river of Dharma, two lotus petals of light appeared on Su Wu's head, shaking as if they were about to drift away with the water!

"People go up, water flows down... This Dharma River, all the way down, I'm actually walking closer and closer to the bottom of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda..." Su Wu shook his head, his eyes opened quietly, and the lotus light on his head stopped shaking.

He turned and looked behind him, looking at the source of the Dharma River - he saw the ten-story Big Wild Goose Pagoda standing in the Buddha's light, the tower wall was as crystal clear as crystal, and the scene inside the ten-story tower was all presented to him - at this time, a Brahma monk was walking from the eighth floor to the ninth floor, and the Brahma monk also had a lotus platform on his head, and seven lotus petals had grown around the lotus platform.

Su Wu suddenly saw the seven-petal lotus on the head of the Brahma monk who was going up. The two petals on his head suddenly turned black, as if they were mutually confirmed with the white jade lotus on the head of the Brahma monk. One was black and the other was white, one was "Buddha Truth" and the other was "Buddha Enemy".

That Brahma monk should be Vajrabodhi's favorite disciple "Bukong".

Just looking at the scene in the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, we can also know that "Bukong"'s current achievements have far surpassed "Vajrabodhi". It is no wonder that Vajrabodhi regards Bukong as his most proud disciple. When he meets the saints in the palace, he always brings this proud disciple with him.

Su Wu thought about it for a while, and did not go up the river. When he returned to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, he went directly down the river and went all the way to the lower reaches of the Dharma Nature River.

He walked along the Dharma River for a while, and saw a blazing fire at a river bend. A monk as skinny as a skeleton was sitting in the fire, bathed in the fire, and his eyebrows and beard were still covered with frost.

The skinny monk rubbed his body with his hands, and kept muttering: "It's so cold, so cold, so cold..."

Su Wu walked straight over and looked at the flames under the monk's seat. He thought about it, and a skeleton wrapped in a red ribbon suddenly flew out from the two black lotus petals on his head!

The Lord of the Corpse Forest swung his arms and grabbed the skinny monk who was sitting in the fire, holding him tightly in his arms. The cold and desolate deathly aura flowed through the Lord of the Corpse Forest's eye sockets, nostrils, ear holes, and mouth and teeth, and rolled into the skinny monk's eyes, ears, mouth and nose!

The skinny monk stopped shivering and began to tear his clothes, screaming: "Hot! Hot! Hot!"

"Cold is hot, hot is cold.

Color is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from color, and the same is true for feeling, thinking, action and consciousness." Su Wu glanced at the skinny monk who was screaming and struggling, and felt that he was troublesome. After chanting a few scriptures, he scolded him, "Cold and hot are just the illusion of the color world!

You are just an illusion!

Just perish! "

Buzz!

The strange rhyme of billowing deathly silence filled the skinny monk's body. When Su Wu finished speaking, the skinny monk was immediately killed by the arms of the master of the corpse forest. He was directly destroyed in the arms of the master of the corpse forest and turned into Sanskrit characters. , competing to flow towards the head of Su Wu's head, forming the third black lotus petal!

Afterwards, Su Wu continued walking down the river.

Before he had gone far, he met another monk who was boiling a pot of water but said the water was dragon meat soup, a blind monk, a dead monk...

Su Wu used various forms of protectors to annihilate the monks one by one. Then, as he walked further down, he encountered the golden-armored Yaksha spirit, the four heavenly kings in wrathful appearances, and various Buddhist protectors, Jialan. He destroyed all the Dharma protectors one by one and approached the end of the Dharma River.

Two small black doors stood at the end of the Dharma River. If Su Wu wanted to open the two small doors, he had to step into the Dharma River that shone with brilliant wisdom.

He stopped on the shore and observed the two small black doors embedded in the mountain wall. The more he looked at them, the more he felt that the shapes of the two doors were exactly the same as the abbot's Zen room where Vajra Zhi lived. Even the mottled paint marks on the doors, The marks left by the years are exactly the same as the two doors of the abbot's Zen room.

"If you open this door, can you see Xuanzang?"

Su Wu thought like this and finally stepped into the river of Dharma.

The quietly flowing river seemed to be higher than his head for a moment, constantly scouring the nine-petal lotus above his head, but the nine-petal lotus seemed to be made of black ink, allowing the shining river of dharma to wash away, It is difficult to wash away the extremely dense black on it.

The long river washed away for a long time without any effect.

A sigh of regret resounded from the river.

Su Wu turned around and looked at the Big Wild Goose Pagoda at the source of the Yangtze River. He saw that 'Bu Kong' had also walked up to the tenth floor of the tower. The tenth floor of the tower was already the top of the tower, but Fu Kong found a series of paths in the tenth floor of the tower. He stepped onto the stairs of the void, and in an instant, a long river of dharma flowed towards him.

At the moment of being empowered by the long river of Dharma nature, Fu Kong seemed to have something. He held the nine-petal white jade lotus platform above his head and looked towards Su Wu there.

He saw nothing.

Su Wu pushed open the two dark wooden doors and walked in——

In the abbot's meditation room, the candle flame swayed in the wind, became weaker and was about to be extinguished.

The haggard old monk was lying on a narrow wooden bed, with sunken eye sockets and high cheekbones. He looked completely ill.

But he opened his eyes from time to time, and the wisdom in his eyes was still clear, like a long river reflecting starlight.

At this time, Su Wu stood in the corner of the room, observing Xuanzang on the bed.

Before he made a sound, there was a sound of footsteps outside the meditation room.

A fat monk opened the door and walked in.

The monk's face was consistent with the one Su Wu had seen in the third floor of the pagoda - both were actually photos of the same person.

The fat monk stood in front of the old monk's bed, looked at the monk on the bed with a solemn expression, and asked aloud: "Has the monk decided to give birth to Maitreya?"

"Desheng..."

Xuanzang on the bed moved his lips and weakly responded to the fat monk.

The fat monk lowered his eyes and said nothing.

The "Maitreya inner congregation" refers to the monks who practice in the inner courtyard of Maitreya.

The meaning of the fat monk's question at that moment was: "Great monk, have you decided to be reborn in the 'Maitreya Inner Courtyard' and practice with the 'Maitreya Bodhisattva'?"

‘Maitreya’ is the future Buddha.

When the "Longhua Three Meetings" were preached, Maitreya Bodhisattva was reborn as a Buddha.

And the monks who follow him to practice in the "Tusita Inner Courtyard" will all obtain Buddhahood and become Buddhas.

The fat monk's question now also has another meaning, that is, he asked Xuanzang on the bed whether he had sensed the existence of the "Maitreya Inner Courtyard" when his body was in Nirvana, and whether he could be reborn in the Maitreya Inner Courtyard. , and Xuanzang’s answer undoubtedly made the fat monk extremely happy.

After the two monks exchanged words, all the sounds and colors disappeared before Su Wu's eyes.

The fat monk who was originally standing next to the bed sat in a cave surrounded by colorful stalactites and asked Su Wu: "Has the monk decided to give birth to Maitreya? "

His words fell to the ground, but there was no need for Su Wu to respond. His figure turned into light and dust and disappeared in an instant.

And the colorful stalactites all around suddenly glowed with melting wisdom!

Under the light of wisdom, the entire world of sound and color is losing all sound and color. The clouds are misty all around, the white light is dim, and there is endless silence. In the blink of an eye, there are noisy voices again, and Sanskrit singing is endless!

when--

Falling with a bell!

Su Wu suddenly found himself in a Buddhist cave where countless Arhats and monks were standing, sitting or lying. The statues of monks and Arhats all turned to face him and looked at him quietly.

But surrounded by various statues, there is a harmonious Buddha light that circulates over and over again.

In the Buddha's light, the hazy shapes gradually transformed into human bodies.

'Maitreya', with a charming female appearance and a gray monk's robe, appeared in the Buddha's light and looked at the two people in the Buddhist cave - Su Wu and Bu Kong with a smile!

On the heads of the two people's heads, one is a nine-petal white jade lotus, and the other is a nine-petal black jade lotus.

The difference between black and white is clear!

The Brahma monk Bu Kong, who had black skin and curly hair, instantly walked into the Buddhist cave where stalactites, chalcedony, and statues of Arhat monks and Buddhas were listed. In the light of the Buddha surrounded by monks and Arhats, the female form of Maitreya loomed. , his mind was already trembling.

At this time, he felt eyes on him from the side, and when he turned around, he saw the tall Su Wu with a nine-petal black jade lotus on his head.

Bukong suddenly saw a person appear beside him, and suddenly saw that person's head also had a nine-petal lotus turning. He felt strange and was stunned.

Su Wu had seen Bukong walk into the eighth floor of the Wild Goose Pagoda before, and he had expected that he could walk all the way to the top of the pagoda. This monk in the Brahma Land had a faint sense of emptiness in his nature. Although he was not as good as him in "dwelling in emptiness" for a short time, he had already found the way to realize emptiness. After that, he should have the opportunity to realize emptiness within a hundred years if he studied hard and practiced hard.

According to the seventeen realms, Bukong should be in the eleventh realm, "the realm of thought and achievement". At this place, he has officially left the "three vehicles realm" and started the journey of the next six realms.

"A monk from the Brahma Land?

But the one with the Dharma name "Bukong"? "The Buddha's light surrounded by the statues of arhats and monks in front was silent for the time being, so Su Wu greeted the monk in the Brahma Land during this gap.

But the monk Bukong turned his head back after hearing what Su Wu said, and did not respond to Su Wu.

He even walked a few steps to the side, as if to stay away from the young man with the nine-petal black jade lotus on his head.

Su Wu saw this and did not care.

The female Maitreya in the Buddha's light, her long eyelashes trembled slightly, and the whole Maitreya female image suddenly came to life. She stretched out her hand to Su Wu and the monk Bukong standing in the Buddhist cave, and said softly: "Would you like to register your name in the 'Maitreya Inner Courtyard'?

After the three meetings of Longhua, I will be the future Buddha.

You all will attain Buddhahood."

Su Wu observed the 'Maitreya female image' with a solemn demeanor, but suddenly she had the graceful and charming demeanor of a young girl, and the charming and graceful posture of a beautiful woman, with the kind and generous appearance of an old man. He glanced at the statues of arhats and monks around him, and was sure that this Buddhist cave was real.

This Buddhist cave is hidden deep in the ground under the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

However, Su Wu could not make a conclusion for a while whether the Buddha light surrounded by the statues of Arhat monks and the Maitreya female image in the Buddha light were real.

There are many secrets hidden in the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. His trip to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda this time failed to find out the truth, but he himself fell into the secrets.

Should he follow the invitation of the Maitreya female image and register his name in the so-called "Maitreya Inner Court"?

Or do the opposite?

The so-called "Three Meetings of Longhua" refers to the fact that Maitreya Bodhisattva was born from the Tushita Heaven and became "equal enlightenment" under the Longhua tree billions of years after the Buddha's death. After that, he preached three times. Those who did not obtain Buddhahood in the past, at this meeting, were distinguished by their upper, middle and lower roots, and each got their own way.

Su Wu met the gentle and peaceful eyes of the Maitreya female image, and he had already had the answer in his heart.

He shook his head and said, "I have no intention of becoming a Buddha, and I don't want to be registered in Maitreya's inner courtyard."

The monk Bukong next to him was more excited when he heard the invitation from Maitreya's female image, but he didn't expect that after Maitreya's female image finished speaking, the young man with a black lotus on his head and the appearance of "Buddha's enemy" actually rejected Maitreya's invitation directly!

Monk Bukong was surprised and turned to look at Su Wu.

Su Wu even smiled at him.

Bukong quickly turned his head away, fearing that his roots would be polluted by the "Buddha's enemy".
