Chapter 149 - Yue Tingfeng: I'm Happy To Pay

Panda Novel

Yue Tingfeng shouted, “I’m happy with my decision. Get lost!”

Qu Jing yelled back, “I learned of this from Jiang Lai! He tattled to me. If anything, you might want to talk to him.”

At his home, Jiang Lai sneezed loudly.

After Qu Jing left, Yue Tingfeng sat in the private room for some time—he was zoning out. Life seemed so boring at the time.

Life had never felt so dull. Nowadays, he found himself battling boredom and loneliness during the sleepless nights that plagued him.

Unconsciously, Yue Tingfeng’s fingers fiddled with the coin in his pocket.

The phrase, ‘Bury you with money’ was frequently thrown around by rich people, yet a poor b*stard like Yan Qingsi had the nerve to throw a tip at him.

What was she trying to prove? Did she even have anything to be proud of?

Altogether, she has tossed money at him on two occasions. First, it was one coin. The second time, she threw three coins—she was miserly even when tipping.

Yue Tingfeng left the other coins in his office. Without much thought, he kept one on him at all times.

Those four coins were all he gained after investing millions.

Qu Jing’s words replayed in Yue Tingfeng’s mind. ‘You’re losing out financially and this is wasting your time. Is it worth it?’

It was not. He knew he was losing out.

To proceed with such an unwise investment put the businessman side of him to shame. How stupid could he be?

Yue Tingfeng pondered for a good hour on how he could salvage the situation.

How could he turn the tide around and get his investments back?

His eyes brightened suddenly as he was struck with a brilliant idea. He had a plan.

A plan that would tip the scales in his favor.

Currently, two hottest topics on Weibo were Xu Qianxi’s scandal and Jin Xuechu’s rumors.

It was obvious that Xu Qianxi’s agency had spent some money on buying comments. There were posts all around the internet saying how Xu Qianxi was being set up. That she was drugged, and the culprit was another actress from the same cast.

Although no names were published, to anyone who knew of Yan Qingsi, the descriptions clearly pointed toward her.

However, such comments failed to stimulate much discussion. This was because whenever die-hard fans started rambling about conspiracy theories under Jing City’s Weibo, the police would swoop in and nip the rumor in the bud. They would restate that Xu Qianxi was not drugged as no traces of drugs were detected in her blood, and that she likely orchestrated the whole thing.

These replies regarding Xu Qianxi and her agency would only tarnish their image further—each one of these like a slap across their faces.

Ever since the release of that photo, Jin Xuechu has posted one photo per day at a fixed time. Each photo featured the silhouette of a woman. While the photos did not capture the woman’s face, she was clearly the same person in the first photo.

That explained why the rumor about Jin Xuechu’s new romantic relationship spread like wildfire.

During one of her breaks in-between shoots, she opened up Weibo and scrolled through the colorful comments.

Yan Qingsi could not help but smirk. The post was just a promotional photo of the music video without any captions. Plus, it was a solo picture of her. How did the fans associate it with a relationship?

She sifted through Jin Xuechu’s previous posts. Very few of them contained images. If any, it was usually of the scenery or his pet dog. The sudden appearance of a woman on his Weibo was unusual.

Yan Qingsi squinted. Was this Jin Xuechu’s way of boosting her popularity?

She did not ask for this favor but he did it anyway.

Was she supposed to thank him for this?

The start of Jin Xuechu’s promotional campaign would mean a public appearance of her face and name!
