Chapter 574 - I am Glued to You and Cannot Break Free

Yan Qingsi turned her head towards Yue Tingfeng. Their eyes from afar and her lips curled into a full-on smile.

Yue Tingfeng was filled with happiness at sight. That was the most beautiful smile he had ever seen.

Yue Tingfeng quickened his pace, wanting to be quickly by her side.

Yan Qingsi looked at Su Xiaosan. “You think too much and too far ahead…,” she said.

Yan Qingsi flashed a smile without hostility towards Su Xiaosan. “Who knows what we will be like in the future?” she said. “No one can predict their fate. I just need to know that I fight to be with him now. I want to be a better person for them. I will try my best, and I will protect them. It doesn’t matter what happens to him or me in the future. I won’t regret anything.”

Those words instantly changed Yan Qingsi’s image in Su Xiaosan’s eyes. He realized she wasn’t a materialistic, untouchable woman.

Yan Qingsi wheeled around and walked towards Yue Tingfeng as soon as she finished talking to Su Xiaosan.

She bravely walked towards her light. She did not know if she will have a happy ending with this man, but at the moment, she knows that she loves him.

At least three-quarters of Yan Qingsi’s life was a tragedy, and she only saw a bright and happy life in the remaining quarter. She craved for love and warmth. She just wanted to live a normal life. Even if she got burned by the light after walking out of the darkness, she still wanted to give it a shot.

Life was full of problems and misery, and no one could predict what life threw at you, but…retreating would not solve any problems.

Maybe Yan Qingsi had been a coward when she was younger, but when her mother died, she did not have the luxury to be weak anymore…

She did not know what cowardly meant as time passed being. She was used to facing any problem head-on. Even if she got smattered and bruised, she would not regret it!

After a few steps, Yan Qingsi finally stopped in front of Yue Tingfeng. Only she knew how she walked these few steps.

Yue Tingfeng scooped her into a hug. “Let’s go take a rest.”

He waved at Su Xiaosan. “Brother, we’re leaving.”

Su Xiaosan nodded. “See you.”

He watched as Yue Tingfeng hugged Yan Qingsi even when they left. He refused to let go even with the sweltering weather and ducked his head to give her a quick kiss on the cheek a few times.

Su Zhen walked over. Su Xiaosan threw his arms out. “Ugh, this is one woman that you can’t cross,” he said. “I can’t deal with her. I doubt that Grandpa and Grandma would be able to deal with her either.”

Su Zhen maintained his stoic expression, yet he was curious about the whole situation. “That woman has extraordinary strength of character,” he commented. “The police would have a headache if she was a criminal.”

Su Zhen had witnessed Yan Qingsi’s feistiness first-hand. She had been the first to walk straight into a police station to poison someone.

“Do you think they can be together forever?” Su Xiaosan asked.

“I don’t know. I’m a cop and not a fortune teller.”

Yue Tingfeng held the steering wheel with one hand and Yan Qingsi’s hand with the other on the way back home.

Yan Qingsi felt unsafe. “You better drive properly,” she said. “I don’t want to die with you.”

“It’s all right because I want to,” Yue Tingfeng pouted.

“Have you really thought about it?” Yan Qingsi asked out of the blue.

“What?”

“About being with me.”

Yue Tingfeng rolled his eyes. “Of course. I wouldn’t have gotten together with you long ago if I didn’t want to be with you. Why do I have to wait till now, especially after you’ve breathed threats and bliss down my neck?

Yue Tingfeng laughed at himself. “But I…I can’t just tear myself away from you. It’s like I’m glued to you and can’t break free.”
