Chapter 851 - You're So Handsome, Especially When You're Cooking

Ji Mianmian quickly picked up the call. “What is it, Sis?” she asked. “Did anything happen?”

“Get Ye Shaoguang on the phone,” Yan Qingsi said, “I have something to tell him.”

“Oh. Wait for a bit…” Ji Mianmian ran into the kitchen, phone in hand. “My goddess is on the phone,” she said to Ye Shaoguang, who was cooking noodles, “She wants to talk to you.”

Sweat proliferated every inch of Ye Shaoguang’s body. He was wearing an apron. His expression was cold. “Should I talk to her just because she wants to talk to me? I don’t have the time.”

“Come on, take the call,” Ji Mianmian pleaded, “If you don’t, if you don’t… I–I’ll kiss you…”

Ye Shaoguang immediately ducked his head. “Then hurry up. Don’t waste a single second.”

Ji Mianmian stamped on his foot. “Hurry up! Take the call. My goddess is waiting.”

Ye Shaoguang did not pick up the call, nor did he move from his spot. He just stared at her silently.

“All right, all right… I’ll only kiss you one time. Just hurry up.” Ji Mianmian quickly gave a peck on Ye Shaoguang’s cheek. “So sweaty…” she said, disgusted.

Ye Shaoguang cast her a side-glance, flinging the kitchen knife aside. “I’m sweating because I’m cooking. And I’m cooking to freaking feed you. Just cook everything yourself if you resent me so much.”

“I was wrong. I was wrong… You’re so handsome, especially when you’re cooking. Let me wipe your sweat off.” Ji Mianmian thrust the phone forward and hurriedly wiped Ye Shaoguang’s face.

As a foodie, there was nothing she would not do when there was food right before her. What dignity? It was worth it to use all her force.

Ye Shaoguang sat down and pointed at his shoulders. Ji Mianmian instantly got the message and started massaging his shoulders.

Ye Shaoguang took the phone and held it to his ear. “Hello…”

“Ye Lingzhi got into a car accident,” Yan Qingsi said immediately, “Go to the hospital and check if she’s still alive.”

The massage felt so good. “How is it my business that she got into an accident?” Ye Shaoguang said.

“Then I’ll make Ji Mianmian come back right here and now. She really just wants a place to stay for free anyway.”

“Which hospital?”

The corners of Yan Qingsi’s mouth twitched. What a sudden change of heart. Where did his pride go?

“Your oldest uncle should know the person who hit her,” she continued.

“Got it.”

There was no need to say much to someone intelligent. One sentence was all it took for Ye Shaoguang to understood everything. “I’m hanging up soon,” Yan Qingsi said her final words, “Let Ji Mianmian come back tomorrow. She’ll accompany me to a filming of a variety show.”

“Okay.” Ye Shaoguang hung up after that. He lifted his head and saw Ji Mianmian’s plump, round face.

He extended a hand and pinched her cheeks, then he pulled her over and took her in his arms. Ji Mianmian struggled. “Don’t move. I just want to hug you for a while.”

Ji Mianmian smelled braised pork belly on Ye Shaoguang’s body. She rubbed against his shirt a few times. “Why did my goddess want to talk to you?” she asked.

“Nothing much. She’s going to film for a variety show tomorrow,” Ye Shaoguang answered, “She wants you there.”

Ji Mianmian nodded. “Oh, I know. It’s to promote ‘Beauty’s Rival in Palace’.”

Ye Shaoguang patted the crown of Ji Mianmian’s head, where her hair was thinning. “I might be busy this time round. Stay with Yan Qingsi as much as possible. Keep the house keys properly. Don’t simply throw it away.”

“Okay. Got it.”

He released Ji Mianmian and got up, walking towards the stove and turning it off. He took off his apron. “Just let it simmer for ten minutes and it should be done. I need to run an errand outside. Help yourself to the food later, and don’t go running about if you don’t have any business to do so. Also, don’t go about and start seducing that pretty boy next door. If I find out, don’t even think of eating anything in the future.”
