Chapter 645: Pressing forward step by step
"Fuck."
Stopped silently, the hand pushing Charles' wheelchair trembled slightly, James' face was full of anger and unwillingness.
Looking up at the sky, James tried to find the trace of his luxury car, but there was no clue, as if everything just now was just a dream.
Recalling the girl's mutant ability, James instantly guessed a possibility, I'm afraid the two girls have already taken his car away, they have no intention of staying to help him.
When they saw these mercenaries, they left here immediately. They have the ability to control the car to fly, and no one can stop them if they want to leave.
"Damn it!" James clenched his fists and bit his teeth to bleed.
On the opposite side, looking at James whose face changed drastically, Pierce smiled.
He first raised his hand to appease the mercenaries around him, asking them not to act rashly, and then he took a step alone and walked towards James and Charles.
"Logan." Charles looked at the scene in front of him and spoke slightly.
"I'm trying to solve it." James frowned.
"Logan, what happened?" Charles was a little nervous.
"Please be quiet."
James replied, and then he walked directly in front of Charles and protected him behind him, while he faced Pierce who was coming towards him.
"Wow - Charles Xavier, the most wanted criminal of the US government."
Pierce whistled, looked at Charles with interest, and then chuckled and moved his eyes to James.
"Logan, see you again."
"This is private territory, you have no right to invade and set foot on this land, bastard." James stared at Pierce in front of him with a cold face.
"I know." Pierce was not scared by Logan's murderous eyes at all, he smiled and said. "I am sure this place belongs to a multinational refining company headquartered in Shanghai, but do you think they can protect you for life?"
Seeing that James remained silent, Pierce smiled even more, he adjusted his sunglasses and looked at Charles behind James.
"It's so tragic. The incident in the east, you know, the Academy of Sciences has classified this old man's brain as a weapon of mass destruction. Do you know how useful he will be on the battlefield?"
"." James didn't say anything, just showed his claws.
"Don't get excited, Logan. As I said when we met last time, my target is not you, nor this old man, at least not now. I'm not in the mood to help the government. They offer too little."
"What do you want to do?"
"Invaders!" Pierce shouted loudly.
With a long sigh, Pierce shook his head and calmed down again.
"I've talked to you about this matter. Our world is being invaded. In fact, protecting the world's safety should be what you should have done before, but now, this chore has fallen on me. Isn't it ironic?"
Listening to Pierce's words silently, James no longer had the desire to chat with him. He was now thinking about how to get Charles and Caliban out safely.
After a moment of consideration, James said softly.
"I promise you, if I see the intruders you mentioned, I will contact you."
"Really?" Pierce raised his eyebrows. "Then why don't you tell us what happened that night, and who buried those gangsters underground."
Pursing his lips, James hesitated for a while, and then said slowly. "It was a man with green hair. I don't know who he is, and I don't want to cause trouble."
"The man with green hair." Pierce frowned, holding his chin and thinking.
It seems that he is thinking about the authenticity of the information revealed by James, which also puts great pressure on old James.
Sweat covered his forehead. James did not speak, just standing there quietly, waiting for Pierce's reaction.
Finally, after a cup of tea, Pierce nodded slowly.
"Very useful clues, thank you."
James breathed a sigh of relief. "Can we leave now?"
"Of course, please feel free to do so. After all, I'm your big fan." Pierce smiled and made a gesture of invitation.
Seeing this, James didn't know what the other party was doing for a moment, but he didn't have time to think about those messy things at the moment. After a pause, he turned around and pushed Charles and walked straight towards Pierce.
Pierce didn't react at all, and even the mercenaries separated their formations and made way for James and Charles to leave, as if they really had no interest in the two old men in front of them.
But just as Caliban was carrying a big bag and quickly followed James' pace, Pierce suddenly blocked him.
"Ang ang~ You can't leave."
"What?"
James turned his head suddenly.
Looking at Pierce who stopped Caliban, James frowned slightly.
"I know who you are, Caliban, one of the founders of the underground organization Morlock, with the superpower of being able to detect X-factor genes. I heard that you used to be a black market businessman. How come you are now the guardian of an old man?"
Pierce looked at Caliban, who was wrapped like a zongzi in front of him, and tapped his chest.
"I, I don't understand what you are saying." Caliban was a little nervous. He quickly replied, and then looked at Logan for help.
"Pierce, I have given you the information. Let him go. This is what you promised just now!" James shouted angrily.
And Pierce stretched out his finger and shook it. "Don't get me wrong, Old Wolf. I just meant to allow you and Charles to leave, but Mr. Caliban is not included in the list."
"What?!" James frowned.
"The identities of the invaders are basically carriers of the X factor. In other words, they are all mutants, and the most dangerous and vicious mutants."
Pierce turned his head and sneered at Logan. "You don't want the incident in the east to break out again, right? These outsiders are time bombs that can hurt innocent people at any time, so in order to solve this trouble as soon as possible."
Pierce pointed at Caliban.
"I need this guy to work for me and find those invaders."
"What, what invaders?" Caliban had no idea what the two people in front of him were talking about. He looked at Wolverine anxiously. "Logan, what is going on?"
"Don't you understand, Caliban? Our world is being invaded by other strange parallel universes. In places you don't know, countless invaders have landed on Earth."
Pierce raised his hand and patted Caliban's shoulder, and continued. "We are here to invite you to be a hero. As long as you are willing to help us locate the mutant invaders from other universes, you will be the hero who saves the world."
However, after hearing these words, Caliban showed a self-deprecating smile under his mask.
He did not doubt the truth of Pierce's words, because there was no need for the other party to deceive him, and it was very easy to verify.
But Caliban was not the little gangster who knew nothing back then.
"You, you want me to help you catch other mutants?"
"You can understand it that way." Pierce smiled.
Not far away.
James looked at the extremely flustered Caliban, and he didn't feel very good in his heart.
Although he always looked down on the albinos Caliban, he had to admit that if Caliban hadn't existed in these years, he might not be able to take care of Charles alone, let alone go out to make money.
Now leaving him here alone and handing him over to Pierce, James was a hundred times unwilling.
Pierce seemed to see this, and he smiled and said. "What's there to hesitate about? If I remember correctly, you agreed very readily when Apocalypse came to you."
"That's different." Caliban frowned. "I won't help you catch my compatriots."
"So, you want to refuse me?"
Pierce casually pulled out a pistol from his waist and loaded it in front of everyone.
"Pierce! You dare!"
Seeing this scene, old James shouted loudly.
"Logan, I advise you not to make trouble. I have already spared you out of mercy. You know, you are worth a lot of money on the wanted list."
Pierce turned his head and stared at Logan indifferently, saying word by word.
"Just think about it for Charles. Do you want both of you to die here, or use this guy's life in exchange for your lives."
"I"
James was speechless for a moment.
He looked at the threatened Caliban with trembling eyes, and his heart was very tormented.
"Logan, Logan"
Just then, Charles grabbed Logan's shirt and pulled hard.
But Logan was in no mood to care about Charles at the moment. He just stretched out his claws and strode towards Pierce.
Seeing Logan coming towards him with murderous intent, Pierce's eyes flashed with panic for a moment, but he quickly suppressed it.
"Why, do you want to give up your lives because of this guy? I've already said that you can leave safely."
"Don't say these nice things." James grabbed Pierce's collar and pointed his claws straight at Pierce's face. "Do you think I don't know who you are working for? Do you think I don't know what you are doing secretly?"
Pierce was caught by Logan, but he was not very scared.
He first raised his hand to signal the mercenaries in the distance not to fire, and then looked at Logan.
"So, you have met Gabriel."
James did not speak, but stared at Pierce coldly.
"That woman let a bunch of mutant test subjects run away, and took a little girl away. To be honest, I really didn't expect that she would find you.
I admit that I did some bad things in the past, but now, Gabriel and X-23 are not my responsibility. My goal is just to find those invaders."
Pierce smiled.
"Even if you kill me, it's useless. If you can't find the invaders, there will be more people coming."
