Chapter 835: Training of Chief Engineer in Progress
Guizhou Aircraft Group.
The office area of the J-11 fighter improvement team is located.
The confidentiality level here is the highest in the entire Guizhou Aircraft Group.
The number of people who can reach the highest confidentiality level of Guizhou Aircraft Group can be counted on two hands.
As the most advanced fighter independently developed by China, the confidentiality level of the improvement work of the J-11 fighter deserves the highest level.
Once the information is leaked, it may suffer a huge blow.
In order to keep the F-15 absolutely confidential, the Americans have not allowed the export of F-15 fighters, including the allies of the United States.
The only exception is to export a batch of F-15 fighters to China and to support their father at the beginning, so as not to destroy their father.
In addition, the United States allies such as Britain and Japan have not been able to introduce F-15 fighters until now.
At this time in Yang Wei's office, Yang Wei was listening and taking notes very seriously.
Liu Tao was answering questions for Yang Wei, and sometimes the answers were based on theoretical knowledge.
This is an excellent learning opportunity for Yang Wei.
In the past, such as this, nine out of ten belonged to knowing the result but not the reason.
As Liu Tao's student, Yang Wei began to realize his shortcomings in discussion, and began to study hard after work.
Every time Liu Tao came to Guifei Group, it was a great opportunity for him to ask for advice.
Usually he was left alone.
As for Southwest Associated University, he had never been there so far.
Liu Tao was introducing the aerodynamic layout to Yang Wei, which involved aerodynamics.
Although it was just adding one seat, from a single seat to a double seat, it might have an impact.
As the saying goes, a single move affects the whole body, that's the reason.
In the improvement work, how to minimize this impact is a key point.
In addition, it is the improvement of avionics.
From a single seat to a double seat, then there is a division of labor, and the avionics must be different from the single seat.
Liu Tao attaches great importance to the improvement of the J-11 fighter. Although the single-seat model 'J-11A' fighter is also very powerful, and one pilot is enough to fly the J-11 fighter and give full play to the J-11 fighter, the two-seat model 'J-11B' fighter is also needed.
Why do many fighters have two-seat models?
First, in order for pilots to quickly master new models, the training of pilots requires gradual progress, from elementary, intermediate to advanced trainer aircraft, and finally to fighter aircraft to become a formal pilot. Each stage has a corresponding trainer aircraft. When the trainee can fly the advanced trainer aircraft alone after "passing five levels and cutting six generals", he is officially graduated and becomes a new pilot.
And the new pilot needs to go through a process from being led by an old pilot to flying alone before he can become a fighter pilot. And this process requires the use of a two-seat trainer aircraft of the corresponding model.
From a certain perspective, a two-seat fighter is a two-seat trainer aircraft for the J-11 fighter.
There is no J-11 fighter now. The pilots of the J-11 fighter are all selected from the pilots of the army. They have extremely high professional qualities. They can be said to be the elite among pilots. These people only need to undergo professional training to have the ability to fly solo directly.
But this kind of peacetime is okay, but if a war breaks out, it will not work.
Because it takes a long time to train pilots, it is not easy to train such elite pilots.
The J-11 fighter can be produced quickly, but elite pilots cannot be trained quickly.
Therefore, two-seat fighters such as the J-11B fighter are very necessary.
It can speed up the training of J-11 fighter pilots!
The second is to reduce the flight intensity of pilots and improve combat efficiency. This function is very necessary for multi-purpose fighters. For two-seat fighters, the front seat pilot is mainly responsible for flight driving, route planning, radar locking, intelligence situation sharing, etc. during medium and long-range air combat, and is responsible for the full set from maneuvering and fighting, locking targets to launching missiles during close combat.
The back seat is a weapon operator, who is mainly responsible for the launch and throwing of weapons.
The reason for this design is mainly because under modern warfare conditions, pilots need to perform a number of complicated tasks including radar search, target locking, flight maneuvers, data transmission/reception, missile launch, electronic interference, etc.
Third, in order to facilitate the long-distance attack of the fighter, the maximum range of the J-11 fighter is 5,745 kilometers, but during an aerial refueling, the range can be greatly increased. During long-distance attacks, it takes a long time to maintain the same posture for a long time, which is very physically and mentally exhausting for the pilot. If it is a two-seater, there is another pilot to share, which will be much easier.
The same is true for the improved two-seater J-11 fighter.
The single-seat J-11A fighter is enough, but the two-seat J-11B fighter must also be available.
Whether there is or not is completely different.
And for Liu Tao, there is another important purpose for the development of the two-seat J-11 fighter, which is to cultivate a group of aircraft development talents.
From a certain perspective, this purpose is even more important than the development of the J-11B fighter.
At present, China's aircraft development capabilities are actually very weak.
There is a lack of top talents and middle-level talents.
After the resumption of the college entrance examination, the third generation had not yet fully grown up.
People like Yang Wei were already extremely outstanding.
As long as this group of talents grow up, more models can be developed.
It is better to teach a man how to fish than to give him a fish.
Liu Tao is still very satisfied with Yang Wei in the past few months. He is serious, hardworking, diligent and innovative. He can often draw inferences from one example and will not be bound by the past.
Liu Tao feels that as long as he is trained well for three or four years, Yang Wei can serve as the chief designer of a new model.
And he is also an excellent chief aircraft designer.
This point makes Liu Tao full of expectations.
It is a very fulfilling thing to be able to personally train an excellent chief aircraft designer.
Of course, Liu Tao did not praise him, so as not to make Yang Wei proud.
In the afternoon, Liu Tao personally witnessed that another batch of 6 J-11 fighters were delivered to the Air Force and entered service in the Air Force.
The pilots of these 6 J-11 fighters stood next to the aircraft and were taking a solemn oath.
When he heard the pilots' solemn oath, when the people were on the aircraft, Liu Tao sighed in his heart. In fact, he had an opinion on this.
He felt that the value of a pilot was far higher than that of a fighter.
He mentioned it more than once.
But the tradition of the Air Force was like this, that fighter planes were more important than life. As long as there was a slight chance, pilots would not give up the plane and would always want to land the plane.
In the past, only a small number of pilots succeeded in such things, and more pilots missed the last chance to parachute, and the plane was destroyed and people died.
In the Air Force, if the plane had an accident and the pilot flew the plane back, it would definitely be a first-class merit. If the plane had an accident and the pilot risked his life to fly the plane away from the densely populated area and crashed it in the wilderness, reducing the casualties and property losses of the people, he would also be rated as a martyr and posthumously awarded the first-class merit.
