Chapter 915 Test Flight
In the afternoon.
Three J-11B fighters appeared on the runway.
Guizhou Fei Group is rich and powerful. It not only built one J-11B fighter prototype, but built three J-11B fighters at once.
Before this, the three J-11B fighter prototypes had completed a series of tests before the first flight.
This afternoon, the first flight of the J-11B fighter was arranged.
As a two-seat model, it is of great significance. Guizhou Fei invited many guests to come, and some leaders from the Air Force came.
Ground staff are inspecting the three J-11B fighter prototypes before the first flight.
After there are no problems, they will be handed over.
Six test pilots, each in a group of two, walked to a J-11B fighter, and then walked around the aircraft to check it. After there are no problems, they boarded the boarding ladder and entered the cockpit.
Even if it is a two-seater, the cockpit still looks very spacious and the field of vision is very good.
The test pilot checked in the cockpit, started the engine, and the display screens lit up. After there were no problems, the test pilot reported.
The ground crew removed the boarding ladder, and the first J-11B fighter began to drive out of the parking area and headed for the runway.
The test pilot reported and, after getting permission, began to increase the power. The first J-11B fighter began to speed up and soon reached the take-off speed.
With the joystick pulled, the front landing gear left the ground, and then took off steadily. Soon, the first J-11B fighter went straight into the sky.
Liu Tao looked at it with a telescope and nodded slightly.
Soon, the second J-11B fighter and the second J-11B fighter also began to take off one by one, with an interval of 10 minutes between them.
The three J-11B fighters were conducting first flight subject tests at altitudes of 8,000 meters, 10,000 meters, and 12,000 meters respectively.
The advantage of multiple prototypes is that they can speed up the test flight test work.
The three J-11B fighters were constantly testing at high altitudes, and they were in contact and reporting with the command center at any time.
In the command center, there were three red dots on the big screen, as well as a video of the cockpit of the J-11B fighter, and the test pilot's situation was clear at a glance.
At the same time, three J-11A fighters were accompanying and taking pictures continuously.
After flying for a full hour, the three J-11B fighters returned.
When going, the speed was constantly increasing, and when returning, it flew at a speed of 1.5 Mach, so it was faster.
The first J-11B fighter to return to the airport was the first.
I saw that this J-11B landed steadily on the airport runway like a bird of prey, slid on the runway for more than 600 meters, nearly 700 meters, and then finally stopped. The test pilot drove the J-11B fighter to the parking area at a very slow speed.
The other two J-11B fighters also landed at the airport 10 minutes apart.
When the three J-11B fighters landed successfully, it also meant that the J-11B fighter had a successful first flight.
Warm applause could not help but rang out at the scene and the command center.
Although the first successful flight is only the first time, it will take at least half a year to finalize and serve under the current situation, but this is a good start.
Yang Wei personally went forward to shake hands with the six test pilots and communicated with them.
These six test pilots are all test pilots of the J-11A. They have flown the J-11A fighter for countless times. They know too much about the J-11 fighter, and they even participated in the development of the J-11B fighter.
Now they personally fly the J-11B fighter into the sky, and they must have mastered first-hand information.
As fighters become more and more advanced, the requirements for pilots, especially test pilots, are getting higher and higher.
Like the test pilots of the third-generation fighters now, they are even members of the development team themselves, and can provide valuable information for the development of fighters.
The feedback from the test pilots is very good, which also reassures Yang Wei and others.
Liu Tao did not participate in the celebration banquet for the first flight of the J-11B fighter. He did not want to take away the glory and honor of his disciples.
Because the J-11B fighter is a two-seat model, not an aircraft built from scratch, the test flight work is very different from the original J-11 fighter.
After about half a year of test flight work, the finalization can be completed and put into service.
Yangcheng Shipyard.
The transformation of the merchant ship into an aircraft carrier has been completely completed. After several inspections and confirmation, it was officially delivered to the Test Flight Academy today.
The "Test" sounded the whistle and left the Yangcheng Shipyard.
The goal of this trip will be 300 nautical miles south of Sansha Island.
The fastest speed reached 30 knots, which can simulate all the use conditions of the 001 type light aircraft carrier.
The airport built on the island before was more of a test of the marine environment.
But that is only equivalent to a stationary aircraft carrier, but you must know that the aircraft carrier is not static at sea, but dynamic, and it is impossible to be static like an island.
This makes it impossible for the "Sea Eagle" carrier-based aircraft to carry out all test items.
But with the "Test" aircraft carrier, it is different, and it can simulate the 001 type light aircraft carrier almost 100%.
The ‘Ray Eagle’ helicopter can be tested on frigates and destroyers, but the ‘Sea Eagle’ carrier-based aircraft cannot.
The ‘Test’ aircraft carrier headed south to its destination.
In the next year or so, the "Test" aircraft carrier will go from the South China Sea to the North China Sea, and then from the North China Sea to the Arabian Sea to complete a series of tests.
A Type 052 destroyer, two Type 054 frigates, and a reconnaissance ship will prepare for the test.
A day later, a "Sea Eagle" carrier-based aircraft appeared and began to land vertically. At this time, the "Sea Eagle" carrier-based aircraft did not hang weapons and did not refuel much.
The "Sea Eagle" carrier-based aircraft landed steadily at the designated location.
Then, the ground staff began to check the "Sea Eagle" carrier-based aircraft.
The pilot took a rest.
About an hour later, the pilot boarded the "Sea Eagle" carrier-based aircraft again and then conducted a vertical take-off test.
The take-off and landing test will be carried out at different speeds and different sea areas.
At the same time, even in the same sea area and at different speeds, take-off and landing under different load conditions must be carried out.
In addition, take-off and landing must be carried out at night.
Aircraft carrier operations are not limited to daytime operations, but may also require carrier-based aircraft to be deployed at night.
Even in some windy and rainy weather, the ability to take off and land is required.
In order to complete a series of tests, the Flight Test Academy has transferred 5 "Sea Eagle" carrier-based aircraft.
Although the configuration of the Type 001 light aircraft carrier is 15 "Sea Eagle" carrier-based aircraft and 9 "Ray Eagle" helicopters, Thailand naturally cannot order only 15 "Sea Eagle" carrier-based aircraft and 9 "Ray Eagle" helicopters.
In fact, after the Thai military added before and after, a total of 30 "Sea Eagle" carrier-based aircraft and 40 "Ray Eagle" helicopters were ordered, and the corresponding aircraft engines and weapons were purchased.
This is also a very special case of aircraft trade, that is, reserve aircraft engines and more weapons will be purchased.
After all, this must take into account unfavorable situations to avoid any situation where there are no aircraft engines or weapons available.
