Chapter 923 Plateau Environment Test
Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
A certain army base.
A roar of aircraft engines came from the sky.
Liu Tao and others took binoculars and saw the helicopter clearly.
A military leader said excitedly: "Comrade Liu Tao, our 'Wu Diao' helicopter is really good. It is so big and can go to the plateau. We thought the 'Lei Diao' helicopter was already very good before. I didn't expect that in just a few years, we have a heavy helicopter 'Wu Diao' helicopter. With the 'Wu Diao' helicopter, our supply on the plateau is not a problem."
Liu Tao took a telescope and looked at the 'Wu Diao' helicopter in the sky. He came here this time because the 'Wu Diao' helicopter was undergoing plateau testing.
China has a large number of plateaus, including the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, the Inner Mongolia Plateau, and the Loess Plateau.
For a long time, the worst environment for the Chinese army is these garrisons located on the plateau. These plateaus are at high altitudes, the oxygen is relatively thin, transportation is inconvenient, and supply is always a big problem.
The harsh environment is the biggest test of the soldiers' will.
Among these plateaus, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau has the worst environment. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is the largest plateau in China and the highest in the world. It is known as the "Roof of the World" and the "Third Pole". It stretches from the southern edge of the Himalayas in the south to the northern edge of the Kunlun Mountains, the Altun Mountains and the Qilian Mountains in the north. The Pamir Plateau and the Karakoram Mountains are in the west, and the western section of the Qinling Mountains and the Loess Plateau are in the east and northeast.
Many military bases are located above 5,000 meters above sea level.
It is conceivable how difficult it is to supply materials.
Especially in the southern foothills of the Himalayas, the supply of weapons, ammunition and materials there is the most unfavorable.
And if there are helicopters, the supply problem will be greatly alleviated.
In recent years, 30 "Ray Eagle" helicopters have been allocated to plateau troops. One of the important reasons is to improve the supply of weapons, ammunition and living materials for plateau troops.
"Our 'Wu Diao' helicopter should be the only heavy helicopter in the world that can go to the plateau. This is also taken into consideration when designing this helicopter from the beginning." Liu Tao smiled, "Now it is a 20-ton heavy helicopter. In the future, there will be 30-ton heavy helicopters, or even 40-ton heavy helicopters. Our troop supply capacity will definitely be greatly enhanced."
For these plateau troops, transportation is inconvenient and material supply is very difficult. And helicopters can undoubtedly solve the problem of material supply very well.
This time, the 'Wu Diao' helicopter went to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau for plateau testing to test the performance of the 'Wu Diao' helicopter on the plateau.
You know, different environments have a great impact on helicopters.
A helicopter can take off on the plains, but if it is on the plateau, it may not even take off.
Not all helicopters can be used in plateau environments.
When Liu Tao developed the 'Wu Diao' helicopter, he took into account the needs of the plateau.
This point is in line with the 'Le Diao' helicopter.
Since the birth of the 'Le Diao' helicopter, it has been proven countless times that this helicopter has excellent performance on the plateau.
Liu Tao is full of confidence in the Wudiao helicopter's plateau performance test.
In fact, the Wudiao helicopter transported 15 tons of daily necessities to supply military bases along the way.
The military base they are in now is located at an altitude of 5,200 meters. Ordinary people here even have difficulty breathing oxygen and have to rely on oxygen cylinders to survive.
The soldiers were carrying supplies, and Liu Tao went over to chat with the test pilots to understand their feelings about this mission.
They flew a full 500 kilometers.
Supply supplies to 5 military bases along the way.
"Leader, I think the performance of the Wudiao helicopter is very good, and it performs very well in the plateau environment. We can optimistically predict that it will be very suitable for the plateau environment." The test pilot said.
This time, the flight test academy sent four Wudiao helicopters to the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the Loess Plateau and the Inner Mongolia Plateau, and tested them on these four plateaus at the same time, instead of going to other places for testing.
As long as the tests on these four plateaus are completed, it can be completely confirmed that the "Wu Diao" meets the comprehensive needs in the plateau environment.
"Strategically, we should despise the enemy, but tactically, we need to pay attention to it." Liu Tao reminded.
"Understood, leader!" The test pilot responded.
Then, the test pilot began to rest.
The ground crew was checking the "Wu Diao" helicopter and adding the fuel carried by the helicopter into the fuel tank.
Liu Tao and the leaders of the Air Force walked towards the "Wu Diao" helicopter. Now all the "Wu Diao" helicopters are in the test flight academy for a series of tests.
So far, Guizhou Aircraft has produced a total of seven "Wu Diao" helicopters.
Liu Tao attaches great importance to the helicopter field.
Unlike fighter jets, helicopters were destined from the beginning. They can be used for both military and civilian purposes, and their application fields are very wide.
Compared with fighter jets, helicopters have obvious shortcomings. They have limited speed and do not fly high enough. They are easily shot down on the battlefield.
However, helicopters also have obvious advantages. The outstanding features of helicopters are that they can perform low-altitude (several meters above the ground), low-speed (starting from hovering) and maneuverable flight with the nose unchanged, especially vertical take-off and landing in a small area.
Because of these characteristics, it has broad uses and development prospects. In terms of military use, it has been widely used in ground attack, airborne landing, weapons transportation, logistics support, battlefield rescue, reconnaissance and patrol, command and control, communications, anti-submarine mine clearance, electronic countermeasures, etc.
In civilian applications, it is used in short-distance transportation, medical rescue, disaster relief and lifesaving, emergency rescue, hoisting equipment, geological exploration, forest protection and fire extinguishing, aerial photography, etc. The transportation of personnel and materials between offshore oil wells and bases is an important aspect of civilian use.
Theoretically, helicopters have a wide range of markets for both military and civilian applications.
Although the "Ray Eagle" helicopters are currently mainly supplied to the military, and the "Wu Diao" was mainly used for military purposes ten years after it was finalized, it has to be said that the market for helicopters in the civilian field is also very broad.
Liu Tao will not give up this piece of meat easily.
And in terms of helicopters, Panshan Group is also constantly developing more subdivided fields and developing helicopters of different tonnage to ensure that it can continue to be produced according to demand.
For example, if you only need a 1.5-ton helicopter, it can be produced there as long as there is an order.
Continuously subdivide the field and develop helicopters for different application scenarios. This is what Panshan Group needs to continue to do in the future.
Not only domestic sales, Panshan Group also wants to do exports.
Without him, overseas markets are more profitable.
Buying a product is often much more expensive than the same product in China, so you can imagine the staggering profits.
